My review is not about the lack of cleanliness or disregard for sanitation. Neither is it about how old every single thing is in this property, or that youra first met with some crazy graffiti on the wall of the broken down and pitted driveway that immediately makes you think you made a wrong turn into a gang house. But after reading the scribbles you realize the that nope, this is the place.
It is about the lack of clarity you get when trying to book this place.
The pictures are deceiving and taken in such a way offering only the better spaces of this place.
After speaking with the owner many times, prior and during our stay, its easy to see that he rented this place out to monetize on covid and everyone's inability to travel.
Claiming his magnificent beach house was the answer to your vacation getaway. NOT AT ALL IS THIS THE TRUTH.
Before going to the cottage I asked him to provide us with more pictures, especially the washrooms as they were none at all on his site.
His response to that was" are you going to be the kind of guest that are going to come to the country and expect your city standard"? What? I asked for more pictures , as I was inviting family up and we are paying top dollar for this cottage.
So yes I want pictures, you want top dollar then I want to know what I'm renting.
He condescendingly replied," I don't understand why city people have these expectations, along as you want to have fun, it will be fine" and never sent a thing.
My first issue, is his thought process. How completely wrong is it for him to devalue the cottage country folks in his community and determine them to automatically be less than what he considers a city folks quality of service is.
Yet your willing to take the money of city folks and put them down for wanting the value for their dollar.
There are so many things wrong with this place and this owners skewed thought process
A few things at a glance
Main floor bathroom smelled of urine and faucet is broken.
Kitchen cupboards are crooked, there's a cracked board under sink cupboard
It's not that there's not a clothes dryer, it's just that it's broken and beautifully decorated with a piece of tape across it.
Kitchen faucet broken
Screen door broken
Hole in deck covered by hay
No cushions for patio table
Dirty throw pillows
Dark bathroom upstair
Mold all over master bath shower
Light bulbs are all burnt out only a few are working
And so much more unfortunately
