Very old fashioned - did the job for a couple of nights, but wouldn't want to stay longer. Ideal if you're on a budget and want to be near the ski slopes.

Thanks for your feedback! You stayed in one of our economy hotel rooms, you get the ski in/out for a cheaper price - I agree, they are great for a short trip - for longer stays, we recommend our apartments with full kitchen/dining and lounge areas

Family of four with two young children, property is easy to get around and get on the kids ski hill. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Would go back again.

Just finished staying three nights at the Griz Inn. 3 guys, late 30*s. We loved it! The Double bed and 2 bunks were perfect for us. We loved the ski in access to grab a quick beer or bathroom break when needed. The accommodations were better than we expected. The extra big hot tub was also a feature we enjoyed. The kitchen came more stocked than advertised as well. Microwave, toaster, cutlery, dish soap, towels, paper towels - this was nice for breakfast and lunches. I would stay again even if I brought the Mrs and kids. You can’t beat the value and convenience of the Griz! (If you’re looking for the Hilton this isn’t it though). We will be back. Cheers!

The location couldn’t be better. Right on the hill and easy access to the lifts, bar and restaurant. The building is showing its age and could be updated. The restaurant attached to the building is shut down which was unfortunate. All in all it was great value for what we paid.

Great stay and nice close to the lifts
Nice’n clean but being on a ski resort you would expect extra drying racks for clothing/ helmet… The recliner sofa was super great for nap during lunch break putting the feet up. Parking lot was not cleared from snow.

Thanks for your review, there is a company that manages the parking, it is usually cleared fairly quickly, if there is lots of snow, it can take a bit longer to clear.

Nice ski in/out. Place was clean and had enough kitchen amenities to eat in our room. Hot tub was nice after a day of hiking and skiing! Room was dated, but comfortable and clean.

Cozy, comfortable bed. Lobby under construction. There is no staff that we were aware of. Not sure if this is a airbnb but code to get into building and your room. If your not on the top floor you will hear people walking above you. Couple of the lamps were broke. Coffee was provided but no filters which I thought was kind of weird. TV didn’t work. Room for improvement I would say.

The property was perfect for what we needed. My son had quick and easy access to the bike park and chair lift- which he loved! The view was awesome, the hikes in Fernie were amazing and overall Fernie was a cute little town with a relaxed mountain vibe! All in all a perfect little get away!

Great Space for families
We enjoyed the loft that we booked - lots of space for the kids to have their own space. The staff was great and responsive to our requests. The indoor pool was great for the couple of days we had rain. We look forward to returning in the near future!

Perfect for our family.
The suite was perfect for our family of 6. The lift for the kids was really nice, though a bit warm in the summer. The master suite was awesome for mom and dad! The kitchen had everything we needed. Will definitely be back.

The property was on the ski hill so there was beautiful scenery. BUT nothing is open on the skill. No restaurants, no grocery store etc. Very limited contact with any staff anywhere.

Older building with some maintenance issues
Quite a dated property and a few technical glitches while I was there. The bathroom fan was wired to the same switch as the light and made a horrible grinding noise. Maintenance came in the morning and disconnected the fan. Then the smoke detector was beeping randomly, so I disconnected that. Overall, it is very close to the ski/bike hill and the staff was very pleasant, but would not recommend it over more modern and well-maintained buildings.

Business trip. Two night stay. No front desk staff after 5PM. Check in was easy though, code to get in welcome letter and keys on front desk. Room was nice. Clean, well equipped kitchen. BUT... only coffee supplies for one pot. There is limited room services. We were there for two nights. No house keeping, no coffee stuff replacement. Bathrooms have a quarter sized bar of soap. And a incredibly small container of shampoo. Room rate is high enough that there should be more provisions supplied. Otherwise nice quiet stay.

Reliable ski-to-door accomodation
We've stayed at the Griz many times over the last 35 years and enjoyed every stay. Comfortable, well-equipped units and great hot tub. Can't beat proximity to the hill with the Elk Quad a short ski from the door. The attached and busy (during the ski day) Rusty Edge restaurant has great food and a good vibe. The Griz has been well-maintained over the years and we look forward to our next visit.

Great location across the parking lot from ski slopes. The bar and food at the Griz was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff.

Hotel is located in a beautiful area. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor hot tub. Although, we did find frogs on the pool deck and the hot tub was cold 2/4 nights we stayed. The suit was cozy and the kitchen well equipped. I was a little surprised at check out to find I was charged a $20 "reservation fee". I would possible stay at this hotel again but I would look into other options first.

There is always someone on the end of the phone if you ever have any issues whilst staying with us and we are happy to help out. We do charge a one time reservation fee per booking payable at check-in and I will have a look at making it even more clear for guests when booking. We hope to see you again soon.
