Booked this hotel based on a previous stay several years ago at the Vernon Prestige Inn - turns out this isn’t the Prestige Inn that I presumed it was, even though it’s on the same street. Went to check in to the original Prestige, the clerk told me that several people make ‘this mistake’ and directed me to a hotel 3 blocks away - ‘our other property’ which is still branded as the Vernon Lodge, not the Prestige Inn. Snarky clerk at this one, seemed irritated to be doing her job. This hotel is a 3 story courtyard-style hotel, but it only has one small elevator, and of course the room we were given was as far from the elevator as physically possible. Dirty carpet in the hallways, room was reasonably clean but it looks like the last time it had a refresh was in the 90s. Decent bed, although the sofa bed required two people to open and creaked like a dungeon door in a medieval movie. Bathroom crammed in a corner, with a tub/shower combo that was undoubtedly installed when originally built. A sliding glass door that opened over the courtyard pool/party zone, and a youth sports team that kept the party going until 3:00 AM. This really felt like a bait and switch - this place isn’t a Prestige property except in name, it’s a poorly rebadged Best Western which wouldn’t meet BW standards.
