Overall the restaurant/lounge staff were wonderful, but two of the guest services employees didn’t impress us. I am a breastfeeding mom (first nights away from my baby) and when I called prior to our stay they said they could store/freeze my breastmilk no problem. The experience of dropping it off and having them find it later did not go smoothly… they couldn’t find it for a long time and most of it wasn’t frozen. I had specifically asked to have it frozen. I also needed some ice packs frozen to transport it back home with us, and these were also not frozen. I was less than impressed, especially since I had tried to organize this all ahead of time.

We basically tossed a dart for a place to stay in the mountains and won some kind of lottery. What a gem of a place to get away. Incredible food, warm staff and just the most stunning nature right out your window constantly.

I enjoyed that the room had a wood burning fireplace that we could light, and sit by and just read a book or enjoy the beautiful lake views. The rooms were a little dated but fit well with the genral aesthetic of the lodge and surrounding areas, no internet or tv in rooms was nice a good way to get away from technology. Bathroom was a bit worse than dated, the shower head was at my collar bone (6ft1) and the bathroom in general was quite cold. The kicking horse lounge had good food, music, and was well priced. The lake itself was beautiful, and calm, not filled with tourists like near by lakes of a similar beauty. The 5 km loop of the lake was well maintaned with good spots to take pictures, and everybody was very friendly and courteous.

Nice quiet place for an escape. The rooms are a bit dated but the amazing views make up for it. The food in the restaurant was good but alcohol is overpriced. The hike around the lake is great. Overall I would highly recommend.
