"Great hotel located close to everything!"
We had an ocean view room. It was worth every penny to open the sliding doors and hear the ocean waves! The view was absolutely gorgeous as well. We could also see Diamond Head. We walked an average 6 miles a day either around town or hiking. We did have a rental car so we could explore the island and used it maybe 3 days of the 7 we were there. There is a fridge so we bought some yogurts to eat in the morning. If you pay extra (per day) you can the continental breakfast eat at the Beach Club in the hotel.

The hotel has many souvenir shops, we were able to buy most of our souvenirs right at the hotel. Beautiful view of the ocean and the city. Great food in the restaurant and great dinner show. The mermaid and fish were awesome.

Great hotel and great location. The sand on the beach shifts during the year. In April, the beach is very narrow with a steep drop-off. Barely enough room on the beach for a beach chair. Riptides were very strong. Spent most of our "beach time" at the pool.

    "Pleasant stay"
We stayed one night and the experience was positive, overall. The room was small but clean and efficient. The staff were pleasant and the facilities well maintained with one exception. The driveway to the rear parking lot was rutted and scraped the underside of our car, be careful when approaching it, especially at night.

"Nice hotel close to the airport"
We went to this Marriott on our 10th anniversary. Overall, it was a good experience. The hotel looks a little dated from outside, but don't be fooled. The rooms are roomier and updated. The pool is very large and is very close to the beach. The restaurants in the hotel are a little pricey and above average. This was our first trip to Kauai, so we were not sure about the location where we should stay. We travel a lot and have never had any issues with any of the Marriott resorts, ever. This one did not disappoint either. The hotel was packed with tourists, but that didn't affect the services provided by the staff. No need to get their valet service. Their self parking is 3 mins from the main entrance. The market place is close to the hotel, a few mins walking. The next time though, I would like to book something close to the Poipu town, which is more central. From the Marriott to the Poipu town, is around 25 mins drive. The drive is very scenic.
