Down by the Sea is a fully updated, nicely furnished, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo at Carolina Beach with great ocean views and access to 2 swimming pools. This is a top floor unit located directly across the street from the beach and has 2 amazing decks with great views. This unit offers washer and dryer in the unit, fully updated kitchen and bathrooms, and tile floors throughout. The master bedroom is beautifully decorated with a king bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed. There are two pull out couches in the living room. You can walk to the Carolina Beach pier to fish or enjoy the views. The pier also has a restaurant and bar. Freeman park, which is 4 wheel drive beach access is located just a few blocks north. This property is fully furnished and ready for your enjoyment today. The beach access is right across the street from this unit! The balcony is so nice, we enjoyed several meals out there! The place looks and feels clean. Pools are a bit inconvenient to get to. Stairs leading up to the unit, are rough, get prepared for a workout, especially bringing your luggage, groceries, etc. up stairs. Pack your own blankets, we weren’t able to use the blankets provided, they were thrown in a closet, clearly not washed between guests since they smelled. The condo was plenty enough room for my immediate family of 5 and my sister, my niece and my mother. The porches provided awesome sunrise and sunset views. Access to the beach is literally right across the street. The kitchen provided everything we needed to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. The mattresses were comfy, even the sofa pullout! Walking up and down with groceries was not fun. Otherwise, the location is great and the views of the ocean and sunset from the decks were nice. The listing indicated 2 pools were available but upon check-in was only told about one. This wasn’t a huge problem because the pool wasn’t occupied by more than a few swimmers at any time. This unit had everything our family of 6 needed and was clean and comfortable. It’s a short walk to the pier, beach access, and pool but may be too long to the boardwalk. The property had many positives but also some negative details. Proximity to the Beach was awesome. No noise, and tranquil neighbors. The location is too far away from entertainment and restaurants. Need a vehicle to reach dinner places. The apartment was spacious yet cozy. The Beach view from the balcony was very welcome. Some negative aspects: The internet service signal was so poor, none of the streaming devices worked. Cable did not work in the living room TV. The previous bed linen had been left in the sofa beds and appeared used and dirty. Had to change them both with the provided linen. The bed mattresses were of poor quality and extremely hard to sleep in. The kitchen had very limited things. NO ONE xtra trash bags were provided. A huge negative aspect was parking. Even though we had 2 parking permits, there were no spaces left on the busy holiday weekend. We had to pay street parking several times even though we had paid for our stay on premises. Suggestion is to have assigned parking spots. Another detail is the far away office where we needed to pick up the parking permits and key fobs. That was inconvenient and inpractical.There was NO outside grilling capabilities. The pool was extremely small and crowded. Not very inviting or healthy.Overall, we made the best of the situation and had a fantastic stay “making lemonade out of lemons”!! ##### Juan H. It was a good size for four people and had some great attributes.The view from the balcony was by far the best part. You could open the slider and hear the ocean so well. The kitchen was also great with all appliances you could need to cook. Everything seemed clean enough, and all towels and linens were wrapped in cling wrap to show they were cleaned. However, some pieces of furniture need replacing- the queen bed did not feel stable at all and the black couch in the living room had zero support when sitting down, which only made one of the couches reliable to actually sit on. The bathroom in the hallway, during the shower the water doesn’t drain right away, so all the little hairs and dirt in the drain come up and fill up the tub. I loved it here! We're already planning our vacation for next year. It was clean and the kitchen is extremely well stocked. We loved the balcony view also. We used the public accesses to the right (if looking at the water) which was about 30ft. It was not far at all. Their was another to the left but it had been washed away by a previous storm and was closed. This place sits towards the end of the 'strip' which we loved - less traffic. I would recommend this place to friends and family. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of the big 5 is the bed in the master. It wasn't awful but... It has one of those egg carton things as the topper already on a (I believe) a padded topper. It was a bit much but we left it in fear of not knowing what it was like if we took it off. Also it squeaks really loud at the slightest move or rollover. by the 3rd night we figured out how to maneuver some pillows for a different support... Other than that we honestly loved this place. The pool was great and the beach was rejuvenating. Communication with the property manager was good. You do have to drive to their office for a parking pass, which was inconvenient given we arrived late at night. I didn’t understand why that couldn’t have just been left inside the condo. Be mindful there is no elevator and the condo is on the fifth floor. The main bedroom bed is only a double. It was very small and uncomfortable for two people in my opinion. Otherwise we enjoyed this location! ##### Amy G.
