The infinity pool was great also! It’s a quiet location and close to a great restaurant for our Free breakfast! Rooms were ok (just old cement, not sealed or able to clean well-bathroom especially) but having air conditioning was a bonus! The BEST part of this property is Lily the manager! She checked on us many times and helped me Immensely when I forgot my passport in the closet in the room! I appreciate her helpfulness and it saved me an hour of time. Only nine rooms and has its own private beach which is a real treat. The manager Lilly was absolutely lovely and was on hand for any questions or help. It’s a little way out of the town but there is a really nice bar/restaurant called Kinha two minutes walk away and it’s only ten minutes into the centre in a cab. We asked for room 10, as it is the one right on the beach. The resort is very quaint and quiet. It has a nice sandy beach with decent snorkeling. We enjoyed free breakfast next door at Kin Ha day club, and spent time eating and drinking there too. Lilly the hotel manager is absolutely the best! She really is catering to every need! Having access directly to the beach is amazing, we spent the whole day on the cabana and just went upstairs to our rooms after! Very quiet and felt safe. Special shout out Lilly who made our stay that much more exceptional. The only thing I would mention as a tiny tiny con would be its location being further away from dining options, but it was easy to get a taxi (and Lily was very helpful with this). We are so happy with our decision to stay here. I had done a lot of research. There were a lot of suggestions to stay at the north end, but we were super happy with staying on the south end. This boutique motel is so peaceful and located right on the beach. The beach is beautiful, the water is amazing, and the pier gives the best views!! Lily, the manager, made the experience the best we could have asked for. She is so helpful and attentive. She feels like family before you even arrive. She is like having your own personal concierge, which she does not have to do. She helped us with so many things from booking our trip to Contoy, finding us a golf cart when they were booked up all over the island, to scheduling a cab back to the ferry. She is truly fantastic and such an asset to Maria's. Also, a wonderful perk is having breakfast included next door at the Kan Kin beach club. Large menu to choose from with a stunning view. Also, plenty of entertainment close to Maria's such as ZaZa Beach Club, Mayan Monkey, the Joint. Fantastic coffee bus at the top of the hill. We went to Puta Sur every morning for the most amazing sunrises. Unfortunately our room didn’t have much privacy, as you’d see everyone who walked by if the blinds were open. The room was spacious and had mini fridge which was nice. Obviously we’re in Mexico and these things happen given the climate and surrounding but it was unsettling paired with the droppings behind our bed. These things could’ve easily been prevented with a more thorough deep cleaning. The private beach property was nice however there were 2 times that we were relaxing on the beach and a worker from the restaurant came over and rudely said “this private beach is only for hotel guests”. We were very confused because we were wearing the wristbands given to us at checkin. We told him we were staying there and he acted skeptical and walked away, only to do the exact same thing the next day while we were watching the sunset. This left a bad taste in mouths and didn’t help create a comfortable environment at our own hotel. ##### nicole Stayed 4 nights in Dec 2024 ### 2/10 Terrible #### William Feb 13, 2024 Disliked: Staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities First the good: Location. The bad: Everything else. We expect the items they advertise on Expedia to be accurate. First, no working TV on our room, no hot water in the sink, VERY limited hot water in shower. We did without for the first 2 nights until we were moved to another room. Next, staff and their attitude. Since advertising a private beach, they had lounge chairs, umbrellas, etc. on the beach. The 1st day was fine with it all set up. The 2nd day, they had been removed the night before, and were not available. We asked the hotel manager to have someone set it up. Her response, “The restaurant staff takes care of that.” We looked for anyone in the restaurant staff to take care of it. All we could find was a bartender. When asked if someone could set up the chairs, he gave what must be a standard answer because we heard it a lot, “Ten minutes.” Another person asked the bartender if he could do it, “No, I’m just the bartender.” Next question was “Who and where is the person who will do it in ten minutes?” His answer, “No hablo inglés.“ So much for the staff. The electricity went out twice. The 1st time in the middle of the night for a few hours - no big deal. However, on our next to last day, it went out again. At first for the entire hotel. They partially restored it, but our room remained out, and dark for the rest of our stay. No one would have enjoyed our stay.
