Incredible Experience
The drive up was a little on the sketchy side, and I will reiterate that while I was able to make it just fine in my 2016 Camry SE, I likely would’ve gotten stuck on the dirt road if it had been raining heavily. With all that out of the way, the cabin itself is a dream! It was the most at peace I’ve been in a long while and I’m so thankful for my time there. I had been wanting to stay here for a while, and the stars finally aligned and I was able to bring my mobile recording rig and actually get some work done. I’ve been working on a series of songs that are directly related to my friendship with my dear friend who passed earlier this year, and one song in particular has been really hard to finish because it’s so intensely emotional. The cabin gave me the space to be vulnerable and sing my heart out.
ANYWAY, more about the cabin itself: They are on solar power and completely off grid, so take care when it comes to power usage. I never had any problems, but it was mostly sunny while I was there. Everything, especially the deck, is wonderful. Honestly I could sit on that back deck for HOURS. The only suggestion I would make to the owners is to add curtains. It took a while for me to get used to it, mostly at night.
Overall, an amazing experience and I cannot wait to go back. Last little heads up: there is no door leading into the bathroom, just a curtain, so if you go with someone make sure you’re at that level of comfort with them. Thank you Tayler and Liv! You’re awesome!
