"Very well situated and nice area."
I have been coming to this hotel since 2005 and it is a very nice hotel. It has been refurbished lately. It is a safe area. If you do not want to eat breakfast at the hotel, you can always go to Toast that is not far at 121 Nantasket Avenue. The hotel is very well maintained and you can be sure to have a very good service with Cathy at the front desk.

"City escape in Boston"
Snazzy and contemporary hotel in great central location. We walked to most sites easily, but also right next to the T station. Room very modern. Smart TV, coffee maker, fridge and portable Bluetooth speaker in the room! Bed perhaps slightly too soft. Staff very attentive and friendly, helping out whenever possible.

"great location in heart of Fenway."
Close to great museums, colleges, restaurants and shopping. The two story motel surrounded by towering buildings creates a unique special feel with good light. Love the decor, fun and tasteful play on standard signs, and the record players in each room with reall record collection to chose from in the lobby.

"Perfect Boston location"
This is the perfect location to walk to the Boston Public Garden, Newbury Street, restaurants, and the Arlington T stop. The check-in was prompt and the room was upgraded when the original room was not yet ready.

"Beautiful historic neighborhood"
My daughter and I stayed at the Commonwealth because we were touring Boston University & the hotel is an easy walk to BU. ALL of the staff were extremely personable and eager to help in any way. The facilities were great, mattress was wonderfully comfortable (hard for me to find in hotels), and the neighborhood was an absolute delight to walk around and explore (as women, we felt completely safe even at night). My only "con" comments are: the Fenway Park side rooms get a lot of freeway road noise, so if that's an issue be aware; and more towel rods/hooks in the bathroom would be nice (we like to conserve & if there had been one more person, not enough hanging space). I definitely look forward to my next trip to Boston and staying at the Commonwealth!

If it’s summer, bring those sandals for some beach sports, and if it’s winter, bring that warm jacket for a brisk morning stroll.

Start your beach-hopping adventure at Revere Beach. Located 7 km north of downtown Boston and accessible by the subway (nicknamed the “T”), this 3-km beach is the oldest public beach in the United States. While you can spend your whole day walking along the sand, take a peek at the Victorian-styled pavilions and old-fashioned bathhouses. Revere Beach is also a popular spot for dog lovers, and you’ll see plenty of locals walking their pooches during morning’s first light. For something a little calmer, head 16 km south of downtown to the South Boston Beaches, a continuous stretch of sandy regions looking out to Dorchester Bay. If you’re travelling around the New Year, make your way to L Street Beach, where the “L Street Brownies” plunge into the icy water every January 1st.

Whether you’re looking for a place to wash off the sand or get your bones warmed up, you can count on your Boston beach hotel. Pick a spot close to the shore for the ultimate convenience. And not to worry about fishing around for great deals; Expedia makes it easy to book a hotel in Boston on the cheap. We also offer top discounts on pet-friendly hotels if you’re looking to bring Buddy or Sassy along for the trip.

Life’s a beach when you visit Boston. Just make sure you have a cozy beach hotel to welcome you back from the sea.
