Hotel 140

140 Clarendon St, Boston - Map
"Friendly central hotel."
Perfect base to explore Boston for a few days. Room was not massive but was immaculately clean, very comfortable and had everything I needed after a hiking trip through New England. Reception staff were polite and charming and happily stored my bag after checkout for the day before I got a late evening flight. I was initially confused on arrival as YWCA signage is still prominent on the outside of the building but apparently it is the site of the old YWCA and the signing has been kept for historical reasons.

"Seeing Boston without a car"
We had a problem with accessibility in the shower, didn't receive the room I ordered. However, Juan at the front desk helped a bad situation into something acceptable. Frank, the concierge, gets 5 stars. He was extremely helpful and spoke to my daughter (she's in a wheelchair) not to me (mom). If others would realize that just because someone is in a wheelchair doesn't mean that they can't talk. ( I feel better saying that - please pass it on.) The hotel had some eating options & a couple of malls, attached. We did everything on foot & subway, 4 days worth. There is quite a bit in this area.

"Excellent hotel at the center of Boston Common"
The hotel is right at the center of Boston, close to both Chinatown and Prudential shopping center, so it's exceptionally convenient to get around. The facilities are new, the staffs are friendly and helpful. Generally a very good experience.

The Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel

138 Saint James Ave, Boston - Map
"Very nice hotel located in Downtown Boston"
The Fairmont is a great hotel close to everything in downtown Boston. Less than a block for a "T" station and bus routes as well. A quick bus or cab ride in from Logan airport and you're set to enjoy all Boston has to offer, from good food, to shows, to historical sites and tours.

Boston Marriott Copley Place - Boston Hotels
Rating: 4.0 Stars

Boston Marriott Copley Place

110 Huntington Ave, Boston - Map
"Solid competitor in highly competed neighborhood"
Hotel is clean, comfortable, modern, well managed, all that. In my mind it is a half- step below the similar Westin next door the old skool Fairmont nearby, and the more chic Copley Place across the street. The best buy within a ten minute walk is the Taj, which is always deeply discounted for some reason. However the Marriott is more than good enough for a stay of a couple of days and some upper floor rooms have great views.
