"Great location"
We stayed for one night for a quick tour of city with our 2 boys, 9&12 who had never been there. You couldn't ask for a better location. With the Freedom Trail right out the door, we felt like we covered a ton in 24hrs.

"Did what it said on the tin"
Reasonable stay at the Hawthorne. Expected room to be small and it was - just about manageable for a two night stay, but could be too cramped big staying longer.

Ames Boston Hotel

"Great central location, very helpful staff"
I surprised my husband for an extended weekend in Boston and picked the Ames based on other's reviews and location. I can honestly say they delivered in every aspect. We arrived very early in the morning, around 6:45 am, via the red eye from southern California. Our room was obviously not yet ready. We checked our luggage, and were told we would be contacted when our room had been vacated, cleaned, and prepped for our stay. I was thrilled when we were called before 10:00 am that our room was ready. It was cleaned to my very high standards. The only thing I would say about the room itself was that the shower did not have a door by design, and the water leaked out all over the floor due to what appeared to be tiles slanted the wrong way. Not so much an issue, but we were sure to put extra towels outside the shower to catch the water. The bellhop was very nice and friendly, as was each and every front desk staff person we encountered. I actually chose this hotel over another due to the helpfulness and friendliness of the front desk staff when I called asking various questions prior to our booking. I have to say though, that Charles at the concierge desk, was superb! He gave us extraordinary tips for a great bar to go to before the Red Sox game, and worked very hard the next evening to get us a reservation at a high end restaurant on a Saturday night. Overall, great trip, great hotel, great staff! Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Boston!

"Very nice hotel located in Downtown Boston"
The Fairmont is a great hotel close to everything in downtown Boston. Less than a block for a "T" station and bus routes as well. A quick bus or cab ride in from Logan airport and you're set to enjoy all Boston has to offer, from good food, to shows, to historical sites and tours.

"Historic Hotel with a Cruise Atmosphere"
This was a historic landmark converted to timeshares with some units available as hotel rentals. Excellent location for all things Boston. Daily activities to keep kids and adults engaged. Only a couple of downfalls - rooms on 1st floor were noisy due to proximity to the "Counting Room" activity room (mostly live music which really was fine) and the internet was terrible. The business center was basically useless due to bad internet and the desktop was only configured for printing boarding passes - made all other websites mess up. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and stay there again without question. I loved it. Next time, I will just bring my mobile hotspot and laptop.

Great way to enjoy colonial Concord -- staying in the historic Inn we had a wonderful sense of "place." Nice to have a touch of history with modern plumbing! Dinner in the pub was excellent.

Make your own mark on Boston’s history by staying in a hotel with a colourful past.

You can’t walk a block in Boston without tripping over something historically significant. Make the most of this and head over to the Freedom Trail, where you’ll wind through over 3 km of downtown Boston and see prominent items like the USS Constitution (one of the six original frigates of the United States Navy) and the Paul Revere House (where he was living before making his dramatic ride). Following that, you can head to the waterfront to explore the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, and you can actually experience the Boston Tea Party via actors, use of holograms, and yes, several replicas of the merchant vessels that transported the tea.

After an exciting day of taking in the local history, stop by your hotel to relax and catch your breath. A number of hotels in the Boston area are historical buildings themselves; some of them constructed over a century ago. When you stay at a historic hotel in Boston, you’ll enjoy all the modern amenities tucked into a classic shell.
