Yucatan Peninsula Fishing Vacations

Horrible stay and desk staff is not accommodating at all. Not clean and only nice staff was the one taking us in the little carts.

We loved our stay here. So relaxing. The staff was amazing. Food and drinks were excellent. Most relaxing vacation we have ever had in 25 years.

The only reason we didn’t give an Excellent rating was because of the beach due to the seaweed. It seems like it would be a beautiful beach if not for the sea weed. Also, everyone was great from the staff at the resort to the tour guides. These guys don’t get paid a lot and tips really help! And if you tip please tip them something that’s decent. Some guy on our tour tipped the our driver only $2! After he drove us around and waited on us all day. Some people at the resort wouldn’t leave a tip after dinner! We always tipped the servers at dinner, at buffet, drink waitress and bar tender. If you can afford to stay at such a nice place you can afford to tip. Just because it’s all-inclusive doesn’t mean you shouldn’t tip. Don’t be a tight wad!!

I had 2 ocean view suites.. both had so many ants... for the whole week.. the shower water was sometimes cold...also room service would not check and refull the fridges and all.. they would ask us to check. ..the restaurant food was ok not the best.. many servers had a bad attitude...and i did experience some discrimination..which was very surprising to me..I was disappointed. However, the excellence resort that I lived in twice before was very very nice. I would not compare these 2 resorts in any way... I had set my expectations too high and I was so excited to bring my entire family to the finest resort...I told them how awesome it would be but unfortunately it was not at all how I had expected or what I told the rest of my family. I dont think I will be returning to the finest.

Having to walk or use transportation to another building every time we wanted to eat was quite inconvenient. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, this hotel is a perfect choice. However, if you’re hoping to relax with an ocean view, this probably isn’t the right place. There also weren’t enough facilities or activities for children, so it didn’t feel very family-friendly.

The property is gorgeous and housekeeping was on point every single day. Big shoutout to Angel, Giovanny, and Blanca — they were genuinely great and made the trip feel special. I had arranged a birthday decoration setup for my boyfriend prior to arrival and it was beautifully done — and housekeeping kept it maintained throughout the rest of our stay. We had complimentary breakfast every morning which was a great perk — always fresh and a nice way to start the day. Food overall is on the pricier side, but honestly that’s just Tulum — coming from someone who lives in Los Angeles , it’s comparable. That said, a few things worth knowing before you book. We had no hot water for 4 out of 7 days, which was frustrating because honestly the shower was a highlight, once we had hot water. Also — the balcony pool never got warm the entire stay. We basically couldn’t use it, so don’t let that be a selling point for you. The most frustrating part was checkout. We tipped cash for room service every time AND were signing receipts, but when we asked what the receipts were for, staff brushed it off with “oh it’s nothing.” Then at the end of the trip, room service charges showed up on our bill. We had to go back and explain that we’d already been tipping in cash the whole time. Angel sorted it out, but it was an annoying situation that could’ve been avoided with just a little transparency upfront. If you order room service, ask questions before you sign anything. Bring pesos !
