Hawaii Island Adventure Vacations

This is a nice place to stay with it's own swimming cove perfect for snorkeling. We had a King room with a partial view. The listing said newly renovated, however this did not appear to include painting the bathroom or changing fixtures which appear out of date and worn but not an issue. The furnishings we good and housekeeping was excellent. The bed was very comfortable. Partial ocean view from the room means very very partial. I am not sure we'd pay extra for partial again as we could only see the ocean from the balcony at a very specific angle. The grounds are good. Complete with a sweet cat running around and plenty of greenery and beautiful landscaping. The gym, pool, and hot tub are all fantastic and well maintained. The Brown's Beach House was not our most favorite meal on the island. Their website description and what they deliver just did not align. The view is great from the restaurant and it is convenient, however the food was basic and sevice just ok. Brown's deli was ok. For the ambience of the place this deli felt less inspired. There are pastries and coffee. Everyone on staff at the hotel was very nice. We'd stay here again. The location is really nice and close enough to easily drive to Waimea or Kona.

Our trip to the Big Island was a last minute switch from Kauai due to storms. It was our first time on Hawaii Island, and we hadn't done any research in advance. The Mauna Lani turned out to be a perfect basecamp from which to explore the island's volcanos, beaches, oceans, tidepools, and history. It was luxurious without being fussy. The staff were almost without exception were warm and helpful. Our room had a beachfront view that was gorgeous, and a large lanai from which to enjoy it. I'm not sure if it was because the hotel was not at full capacity, but our room was very quiet, and our every need was met instantly upon request. We had so much fun!

Loved everything about our stay here! Quiet property, super responsive staff. The pool was amazing. The shed with beach supplies was super helpful. Free parking! Great internet! Great location! Wouldn't change a thing and would stay here again.

I booked this two bedroom, 2.5 bath at the last minute since our house lost power due to Lala and we had family coming in from out of state. It was wonderful to have electricity and air conditioning for the guests traveling with an infant. The unit was nice although it is sporting its original 2003 furnishings and decor. The beds were okay, but noisy. The primary suite TV would turn on randomly. The washer and dryer worked great for the first few days and then stopped. No biggie, we didn’t need to do anymore laundry. Both issues were reported to maintenance upon our check out and they were receptive to the alert. The pool was great and the complex was nice and quiet. The location in Waikoloa Beach is so convenient to shopping and restaurants. The price point was great for us for a last minute reprieve from hurricane outages, but if I was on a vacation and paying full price, this probably wouldn’t count as a “high end” tropical vacation experience.
