High Cross Lodge is a newly renovated 3-bedroom luxury holiday home in the Lake District, ideal for families and groups. This modern retreat offers a perfect blend of comfort and year-round relaxation. It features a spacious super king en-suite, two king bedrooms, and three bathrooms. Enjoy amenities like underfloor heating, a fully equipped kitchen, and free WIFI. Outside, the private garden has comfortable outdoor furniture and a hot tub, perfect for unwinding after a day exploring Cumbria.  
  
The Space:  
High Cross Lodge is a newly renovated property situated in the picturesque Lake District, offering the perfect combination of traditional charm with modern amenities, making it the ideal retreat for families or groups while exploring the stunning Lake District.  
  
The lodge features three well-appointed bedrooms. The master bedroom on the ground floor includes a super king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, toilet, and wash basin. Upstairs, two additional king-size bedrooms share a spacious family bathroom, which includes a walk-in shower, toilet, and wash basin. A third communal bathroom is located downstairs, featuring a charming cast iron roll-top bath, perfect for soaking after a day of adventure. All bathrooms are equipped with underfloor heating, providing a luxurious touch throughout your stay.  
  
The living areas of High Cross Lodge are designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. The cosy living room features a flat-screen TV and an indoor fireplace, creating a welcoming space to unwind after a day of exploring. Each bedroom also includes its own TV, offering additional privacy and entertainment. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for preparing meals, including a microwave, toaster, and a boiling tap with a filter, along with a full range of kitchenware. For those visiting Troutbeck, it's worth considering its proximity to popular Lake District attractions. The village is just a short drive from Windermere and Ambleside, where visitors can explore shops, restaurants, and lakeside activities. Despite its rural charm, Troutbeck has good access to these bustling areas while maintaining a quieter, less tourist-heavy feel.  
  
In Troutbeck itself, you’ll find historical sites like Townend, a 17th-century farmhouse, and traditional pubs, such as The Mortal Man, perfect for experiencing local hospitality. The area is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, whether you’re looking for leisurely strolls, challenging hikes, or simply enjoying the natural beauty of the Lake District.  
  
Getting Around:  
Guests visiting the Troutbeck area have several travel options, though it's worth noting that public transport in this rural part of the Lake District can be limited. Most visitors find it easiest to drive, as having a car allows for flexibility when exploring the surrounding areas like Windermere and Ambleside, which are just a short drive away.  
  
However, there are some public transport options to consider:  
Trains: The nearest train station is in Windermere, about 10-15 minutes by car from Troutbeck. It offers direct services to Oxenholme on the West Coast Main Line, with connections to major cities like Manchester, London, and Edinburgh.  
Buses: Regular buses connect Windermere and Ambleside to Troutbeck and other nearby villages - bus routes like Stagecoach 555 run between Kendal, Windermere, and Keswick, stopping in Troutbeck, but guests should check timetables in advance.  
Taxis: Local reliable taxis are available, we recommend booking in advance. (We can also recommend some local companies!)
