When the present courthouse replaced this one, 3 Catholic Sisters of Charity from Leavenworth, Kansas came and opened St. Mary's Hospital for miners. The hospital briefly prospered till the placer gold was exhausted in. In nineteen forty Mr. Bovey remodeled the interior as a hotel but little has changed on the exterior from the eighteen seventies. It is very clean, perfect accommodation for anyone who wants an emersive experience in Virginia City and take a step back in time. Katlyn directed us to a great restaurant for dinner. We went to Ennis for rodeo and 4th of July parade and also toured Nevada City. This is a converted space. 5 other rooms with a shared entry where you can get coffee and visit. Rooms are small but cute. Loved the blanket on the bed. My only criticism is the tub slopes toward the drain, so I would not recommend it for older folks or anyone with balance issues. A non skid tub insert and hand rail would help.
