The Layout: Bright, modern, and beautifully renovated, this one-bedroom, ski-in/ski-out condo at Ptarmigan House will place you within steps of Steamboat Ski Resort, a hub of mountain activity come winter, spring, summer, or fall. Spend your days in the great outdoors and your evenings curled up in this warm and inviting space, where you'll find a gas-powered fireplace with a lovely stone hearth, chic furnishings, and a private balcony where you can sip your coffee, cocoa, or cocktails. There's no need to go out to dinner each night with such a beautiful kitchen at your fingertips, offering gorgeous countertops, a spacious island table for dining or prep work, and polished stainless steel appliances. When everyone is ready to settle down, kick back for a movie night on one of the flatscreen TVs. The Bedrooms: At night, you'll have one bedroom with a king-size bed and one full bathroom with a spacious shower with bench seating. There's also a sofabed in the living room to provide additional accommodations. What’s nearby: The Ptarmigan House Condominiums enjoy a ski-in/ski-out location just south of Gondola Square, allowing you to stroll (or ski) to the main base area at Steamboat Ski Resort each morning to hop on board the gondola or the Christie Peak Express. On the grounds of Ptarmigan House, you'll have access to a community outdoor hot tub to soothe your legs after a day of skiing, as well as a shared gas grill for afternoon barbecues all summer. Winter activities: Steamboat Ski Resort is immediately north of this complex, offering 18 lifts, 169 trails, and 2,965 skiable acres across Mt. Werner, Sunshine Peak, Storm Peak, Thunderhead Peak, Pioneer Ridge, and Christie Peak. After a day of skiing or snowboarding, you can soak in one of the area's famous hot springs, which include the Old Town Hot Springs (three miles northwest) and Strawberry Park Natural Hot Springs (10 miles north), both of which are open in summer as well. Spend a day snowshoeing, cross-country skiing at the Haymaker Nordic Center (two miles south), or perusing the charming shops, restaurants, and galleries that await in downtown Steamboat Springs (three miles northwest). Summer activities: In the warmer months, Steamboat Ski Resort transforms into a hub of hiking and mountain biking, with 30 miles of cross-country mountain bike and multi-use trails on Mt. Werner alone. Take a scenic gondola ride, tee off at the Haymaker Golf Course (two miles south), or book an excursion with Steamboat Zipline Adventures (six miles south). You'll be less than a mile from an access point to the Yampa River Core Trail, a 7.5-mile paved, multi-use trail that runs along the river to the heart of downtown, allowing you to stop mid-way to explore the Yampa River Botanic Park with its beautiful ponds and sculptures. The listing stated a washer/dryer in unit but it did not have one. They have coin-operated laundry in the building. The bed was not comfortable, no bed frame and very soft. The owner went renovated the apartment and its nicely done. It should be only for a couple. Over 2 people is crammed. Its on the first floor. Pro: easy to get to. If you open your condo door, you are in the lobby, and you get sort of full access to the door man who is great. Con: You open the door and you are in the lobby. People walking by can you see naked in the apartment. If you open the windows, you are facing the parking lot and entrance of the lobby. So keep your clothes on. One bathroom with no lock and just two barn sliding doors Pro: You get close with your family Con: You get real close with your family Mater bedroom has an open wall to the living room Pro: You can talk to your kids sleeping on a pull out sofa Con: Kids can talk to you and just walk in any time to say hi Location is great.
