Everything that you might need for a small get away was provided. The kitchen and bathroom are beutiful and the bedroom was cozy to stay in.
Could not recommend this place more :).
We felt so at home, and had a great location for exploring the Bay of Plenty. The Hut is a great place to unplug for a while and take in some of New Zealand's natural beauty. We appreciated the comfort, cleanliness, and attentiveness that the hosts offered. Thank you Scott & Shona for the warm welcome!
Beautiful location with friendly hosts. Loved the personal touches and well stocked for everything you need. Would love to come back for a longer stay.
Shona and Scott were wonderful hosts. The Old Brett Road Hutt is a great off grid get away. You will enjoy peace and quiet and a stunning night sky without comparison.
Friendly hosts have made a special place for a relaxing stay with lots of kiwi history and items used throughout the hut that make it a fun and interesting time.
Unique, rustic accommodation in a beautiful rural setting. Very quirky and interesting, lots of 'finds' and reclaimed items, some re-purposed, as in horses bits for toilet roll holder and towel rail! Scott and Shona were great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. We loved it!
Beautifully restored historic property. Had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay (including an amazing claw foot cast iron bathtub). Visited just a short time but truly enjoyed the experience and wish we could have stayed longer.
Fun place to stay with 50s styling and relaxed outdoor living. Super cosy bed in the cabin. Friendly, welcoming hosts. Everything you need for an 'off-grid' weekend in the countryside.
Loved the thought that had gone into planning and repurposing items for use in the hut. Even though we had a lot of rain, we could still sit and enjoy watching the birds, sheep and cows in the paddocks. The rustic charm was a very pleasant change from places we usually stay and would definitely return here again.
Rustic Charm with Stunning Views and Exceptional Hospitality
We had an amazing stay at this charming hut near Rotorua! The rustic vibe was perfect, offering a cozy and unique atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and we loved waking up to such a beautiful landscape and sheep :) The hosts were incredibly welcoming and hospitable, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We slept like a dream in the peaceful surroundings. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a tranquil and memorable getaway!
We had a lovely stay at the hut. It’s in a great location to explore the geothermal sites. We loved being away from the city and being so connected to the outdoors. Scott and Shona are friendly welcoming hosts and the hut is really beautifully handcrafted full of stories. I now want a hut in my backyard!.
Disconnect from the hustle and bustle in 20th century style
Had a wonderful two night stay at this idyllic hut stuck in time. Was great to fully disconnect and appreciate the countryside and surrounding nature. The close proximity to Rotorua also meant that we were never far from the convenience of a supermarket.Scott and Shona were friendly and thoughtful hosts, and were able to answer all questions we had about the area and gave great recommendations. Can't wait come back again and explore the area some more!
Scott and Sharon's Old Hut was quirky and charming. They have put in of thought and attention to detail and the result is a fun, unique and comfy place to stay. It is handy to lots of interesting places, both free and touristy. Scott and Sharon were friendly and had lots of great suggestions about where to go and what to see. Highly recommended!
Lovely quiet spot. Shona and Scott were great hosts and it was warm and comfortable in the cute bedroom. Lots of really interesting and creative ways they have made this place a really neat place to stay. The bath was so good! Very clean and we had all we needed.
Really enjoyed staying at this hut. Love the design and effort put into it and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and hope to go back again.
