Everything you need is there. A short walk to restaurants (the Inn's Tavern is a must) and quaint shops as well as ski and sports shops. The bedroom and bathroom set up couldn't be better. The enormous room to relax in after a day of skiing was heaven. And open to the kitchen! Doors throughout so you can contain your noise or your small children. We were only about a 35 minute drive from the mountain, and Rangeley had enough shops and restaurants to keep us busy when we were not at the mountain. Moose Alley was a great place to bring a group for bowling, pool, and drinks and only a 2 minute drive away. The house itself was very homey and everyone loved lounging together in the living room on the big, comfy leather couch. The sleeping setup was great for a big group, especially the rooms that had their own full bathrooms. The lake was also beautiful, and I would love to explore the area in the summer.
