This condo is just a short walk from the world famous Ritz Carlton Hotel, includes two full-size pools, four lighted clay tennis courts, as well as shaded bike and walking paths. The Surf and Racquet Club is a beautifully landscaped, secure, gated community conveniently located in the Summer Beach area on Amelia Island. . The setting is in a lush, coastal, hammock forest with sand dunes directly on the ocean. Much of the tree canopy remains intact. Our condo overlooks 1 of the 2 pools and the pristine sea-oat covered dunes and white sandy beaches. The Master Bedroom has a King Bed with great views of the ocean and balcony access. The master has a TV with cable and a full, private bathroom. The second bedroom has 2 Twin beds, TV with cable, and full private bathroom. The living room includes a sleeper sofa. The dining room can seat 6 at the table and there are 2 additional stools at the kitchen bar. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need. We have a full size washer/dryer available in the condo. Only 40 minutes from Jacksonville airport, Amelia Island has miles of hiking and walking trails through the inland oaks. Oceanfront horseback riding is very popular, too. There are many great golf courses very close by, including one near the Ritz Carlton, just a five-minute walk down the beach or road and others at the Plantation development on the Island. Boating, fishing and all water sports may be found on the island, too. Antiquing in some of Amelia’s antique shops is popular as is strolling in the quaint Victorian downtown area. You will find many fine restaurants there and throughout the Island, as well. A short boat trip will take you to Cumberland Island, famous for it’s wild horses. Also, on Amelia Island is Fort Clinch and is one of the most well-preserved 19th Century Forts in America. There are daily tours, hikes, fishing, and other activities. We did not rate 5 stars because we messaged the host twice while staying in the condo with multiple concerns and never had a response. We sent pictures of our concerns also. A water main broke, so the tennis courts were closed the whole week we were there. The swimming pools were lovely and the beach access was great. When called the property manager, no one answered, and after an 8 Hour drive we sat outside the gate for over 40 minutes until a random guest opened it and let us in. Then as we arrived at the front door, the black lock box where the keys were would not open no matter what we tried, after about 20 minutes of trying the cleaning lady open the door and attempted to open the lock box and get us the keys as well and it took her over 20 minutes. Finally, the property manager answered my call and I advised her what was going on with the box and she replied with “yes, that has been giving us some troubles.” the room was very clean, however, this was the worst condo I’ve ever stayed in. You have to be Hercules to open the sliding glass door, all of the blinds broke the moment you tried to open them, the microwave did not work, the shower only worked if you had it on the hot water, and the lack of communication from the property manager was incredibly frustrating. Additionally , the elevator broke and the door to the stairs had vomit on it and was never cleaned. The location is great and a quick walk to the beach. There is a side view of the ocean and the beds are comfortable. The AC worked great and we were comfortably cool.pools were also good. I have been visiting this beach now for eight years and have to say I will not be staying back in this location. ##### Jamie P. Give me the beach and the sunshine and I am typically happy in any situation!The home when we entered appeared to be exactly as pictured! No smells and carpets in bedrooms appeared clean and kept which i was worried about being at the beach!Everything you need in the kitchen, minus the toaster needs replaced because it burned our bagel every morning on the lowest setting.The towels provided had stains in both bathrooms so we opted to use our beach towels. The facets need an upgrade in both the sinks and the showers in additional to the shower liner being changed in the main bath. The fan in the main bath was also broken and sounded like a fire hazard.Overall it its a beautiful location and we enjoyed our week but the property itself needs some work. ##### Stacy H. The view is beautiful from the bedroom and balcony. The living area was especially comfy and no problem with any electronics. I would only say the tub plumbing in both bathrooms were a little tricky to get shower, or tub to cut off or get proper temp control. The information for the condo was a bit confusing as the emails were different from posted information. Also, the twin beds have plastic covers on them, which we understand are great for kids, but I had two adults staying in there who said they crinkled all night. Overall, it was a beautiful condo really nicely furnished and we totally enjoyed the beach and the amenities and getting a chance to get away for a few days. we would definitely book this condo agai ##### Susan H.
