Welcome to "The Happy Soul"

When I think of this house, I think of the quote "Let all that you do be done in LOVE". It has truly been a labor of LOVE restoring "The Doll House". We are premier host and are excited to add this to our list of rental homes. We have completely transformed this 1940's Bungalow into a place for you to rest & restore your soul. This luxurious and upscale home will not disappoint you with all the modern conveniences needed while exploring our area. Gloucester Courthouse was built in 1766 and is one of the oldest Courthouses still in use today. Hike or rent a boat at Beaverdam Park, sip chardonnay at a nearby winery, dine at one of Gloucester's fine eateries, shop in specialty boutiques and gourmet food shops, visit antique stores, local beaches, buy fresh local seafood & produce from our farmers market and many other attractions sure to keep your vacation memorable for many years. The open floor plan lends itself to easy entertaining and the deck plus a stamped concrete patio is sure to be the families favorite spot for meals or morning coffee. All bedrooms have high end memory foam mattresses. Furnished with care and attention to detail, this home will encourage relaxation and fun. Gloucester Courthouse is 5 miles, Yorktown 20miles, Colonial Williamsburg, Bush Gardens & Water Country 35miles from the property. PLEASE NOTE: We do not rent to anyone under the age of 25. We also do not allow pets or smoking in the home at anytime. We live close by if you need anything at all!

Outstanding Haven

We absolutely loved this cottage. It had such curb appeal. The owners went out of their way to provide so much information in the welcome notebook and in stocking everything needed in the home except the food. The interior decor was amazing. The place was immaculate. When my two little granddaughters visited one day, they loved the cubby at the top of the stairs. The internet and the TV streaming worked like a charm. We will stay there again if we get the chance to return to the area. I highly recommend the Bee Haven. Thank you so much - it was truly a privilege to stay there.

This house is gorgeous! Everything about it is great. We were there for a wedding at the local yacht club. Shannon was a great host. I appreciated the ease of the house. You really did feel like you were at home. Very well stocked.

Girls Getaway

This place was absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in, we felt at home! It was immaculately clean, adorably and thoughtfully decorated, and had more than enough space for us to stretch out and unwind at the end of the day. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to enjoy this wonderful home!

Such a cute place!!

It was a perfect retreat after fun (but long) days visiting the historical sites in the area. It was very convenient to Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown. The house was extremely clean!! And had so many consumables that are often not included - we didn’t need anything that we didn’t bring or wasn’t included. The floor plan worked out very well for our 3 generation family. The only hiccup was we weren’t given the correct code at check in but the property manager was very helpful and quick to get us in! The old county store was a wonderful spot to visit for gifts and the coffee is wonderful! And the swing was a HUGE hit with the kids! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home with us!! Highly recommended!

We’ll Be Back!

Cleanliness is huge for me! This house is extremely clean, has everything you need, cozy and comfortable. We wanted to visit Williamsburg/Busch Gardens and it was an easy drive. The town is quaint and has some great restaurants (love Lulu Bird). Thank you for a great stay! Already scheduling to stay here again next year.

Perfect retreat!

It was so nice to arrive at this lovely clean home with comfy beds! Due to flight delays we arrived at 2 am. Luckily, we know the area well and found the house easily. The house is so welcoming and cozy. The instructions we received ahead of our arrival told us everything we needed to know. We enjoyed long runs in the woods followed by a breakfast made in the well-stocked kitchen and coffee on the porch. I love that all the light switches were well marked, the bathroom towels ample and Wi-Fi strong. Could not have asked for more! Thank you and we look forward to renting your home again!

This home and its property is absolutely the BEST experience we have ever had in a VRBO. We give this experience five stars from beginning to end. Overall we were absolutely in love with this home, it was beautiful top to bottom and inside and out! Plenty of room for couples and families, and a fun surprise room upstairs! We called it our Harry Potter hole haha. Will definitely book again for trips and recommend to others!

Excellent place to stay. In the country you can hear roosters in the distance in the mornings outside only. Went to Williamsburg one day from the home went to Richmond for the NASCAR race. The house is very centrally located for that area.

A Great Spot

We viewed this home as we were visiting family for a graduation. Our host Shannon was the best- from start to finish. She communicated with us about local spots to eat and things to do around town. This home is close to Gloucester Main Street and just down the road to Gloucester Point and Yorktown Beaches. The house is furnished with all the amenities you need, and the beds are so comfortable we had the best night sleep. Look no further and go ahead and book your trip now.

History vacation

We were there to explore Jamestown and Yorktown. The area is just beautiful. The cottage is gorgeous. We loved it. Everything we needed. The only negative (owner has no control over) is cell phone coverage. I have T mobile. No service at the house and very spotty coverage everywhere else. The general store down the street is fantastic. Very nice people. The lady said Verison is about the only good service there. Olivia's restaurant was delicious. The owner is a super nice guy. He was roaming the tables and talked with all his customers. I would love to return someday and stay longer to further explore the area. Trust me you will fall in love.

Sweet little getaway

This was such a pefect little home! The layout was very clean and comfortable and there was a perfect backyard for our son to play. Very convenient to the cute historical town of Gloucester and Yorktown. They had a nice notebook of recommendations for anything you needed. Would definitely stay again!
