Guest Access: There is a lockbox on the door to easily access the unit. The Neighborhood: This unit is in the perfect location as High Street (0.1 of a mile) , Downtown Columbus (2 miles), The Shoe (1 mile) and Ohio State campus are all right around the corner. Getting Around: Many activities are in walking distance but there is city transportation if needed. Columbus has ample street parking along with most venues having their own parking. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. The room is about what you would expect, old and not perfect but served its purpose, felt the bedding and towels were clean. There were holes in the wall under the window. Biggest disappointment was the parking, I feel the add is misleading and leads you to believe parking is available onsite, but only paid parking is available or luck into street parking . Had to park several blocks away because there was a home game and no overnight parking in garage across the street was available. Should be more clear about that in add.
