Step inside our restored home, where modern living meets old-world charm. The cozy ambiance is enhanced by thoughtful touches, from the trim to the lighting, preserving the home's original character. The backyard is transformed into a true oasis, perfect for relaxation. The main level features a gourmet kitchen with a spacious peninsula countertop and bar seating. Whether you're whipping up a quick meal or indulging in culinary adventures, the well-appointed kitchen provides all the conveniences you need. The open-concept design seamlessly connects the kitchen to the generous dining room and living space, complete with a large flat-screen TV featuring streaming cable for your entertainment. Off the kitchen, you'll find a convenient back entryway with a delightful mudroom, equipped with a bench and plenty of hooks for storing belongings. A half bath on this level ensures convenience without the need to go upstairs. As you ascend the grand staircase, you'll discover two spacious bedrooms with comfortable queen beds. The primary bedroom features walk-in closets, offering ample space for longer stays. The bathroom will transport you to a spa-like experience, with its original clawfoot tub for a relaxing soak and an open-air shower adorned with natural light. Additional amenities on the upper level include a washer/dryer all-in-one unit for easy laundry care. For larger loads or bulkier items, a full-size washer and dryer are available in the basement. For those who need to work during their stay, we provide a dedicated office space furnished with a convertible stand-up desk, chair, and basic office supplies. Stepping into the backyard, you'll discover a lovely, spacious fenced yard adorned with beautiful flowers. My wife, Cassie, and I personally rehabbed this home and lived here full time for several years. Although we have now moved to Athens, we couldn't bear to part with the place we poured so much love into and the city we still adore. Our primary business revolves around vacation rental cabins in Hocking Hills, making our decision to share this home with guests in Columbus a natural one. People leaving notes about feeling unsafe had nothing happen to them directly as far as I can read. But I grew up in Columbus so perhaps I am thicker skinned.Kitchen was well stocked, except for no dish towels. Also lack of rugs at the entry doors made for messy floors we tried to keep clean.This is not a 10/10 review for only a few reasons:One is that there is inadequate bedding. No comforters or blankets, only 1 very thin blanket for each bed. The listing reads there is an air mattress, but we couldn't use it because there was no bedding for it. It was hard for the 4 of us to sleep in 2 beds, given our ages and relationships, and we definitely lost sleep due to inadequate bedding. The listing did warn of only 1 towel per person but it was inconvenient due to the amount of days we stayed, more than 1 towel would have been nice. The second reason is the cleanliness. There was animal hair around all corners of the floors, even on one of the beds (as if a dog layed across the top and it wasn't changed). The housekeeper was polite, but definitely not finished when we checked in at 4pm. Maybe due to holiday scheduling, no biggie.Again, beautiful and tastefully decorated home, might rent again, but we'll need to be better prepared with bedding, towels, etc. ##### J V. I was a little concerned when driving up, but the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The garage is such a blessing. We liked how everything was laid out in a user friendly manner. The owners were so communicative and helpful. We didn't really need any help but I was confident if we did need something they would be on it right away. The location worked well for our adventures. The backyard was awesome, the decor was great, the kitchen was well stocked, and it was generally clean. The location was great for us. We had plenty of space and were comfortable enough. That said...we travel a lot, and there were small details that made this a four and not a five: The host did not respond to specific questions sent in the app during our stay; There was something sticky on one of the sheets - it seemed like something from the wash, and the sheets had obviously been cleaned, but it was still off-putting; the sheets were also very thin; Finally, I got a splinter in the hardwood floor. We were allowed to bring both our dogs so the enclosed backyard was a godsend. There was plenty of space for my husband, myself and the dogs. The location was very convenient for downtown which is where we spent most of our time. Nothing the hosts can do but the neighborhood was littered with trash. It was a windy weekend, so maybe that was a one-off. There were a few non-urgent, minor issues which the hosts were very responsive to. The area is clearly going through significant gentrification, as there are newly updated beautiful homes side-by-side with those more run down. I was glad to have a garage to park my car in and a fenced in back yard. Over the course of my stay, I became more comfortable with the neighborhood and never heard or saw anything or anyone scary. The house inside was perfect. Beautifully restored with a great kitchen, comfortable beds and shower. Phenomenal value! Just a 10 minute drive to downtown, which I did twice daily.
