We loved that we were walking distance to the little village of Barnstable. We enjoyed coffee from Nirvana and food from The Buttercup Cafe. We also loved that the house was right on the water. Our kids spent hours exploring the rocks and water looking for sea creatures and fishing (water shoes are a must)! Oct 12, 2024 #### Fishing, Clamming and More! This late September and early October offered some great fishing in Barnstable Harbor. Fly Fishing from the sand flats at low tide and along the shore and marshes at high tide yielded a bounty of stripe bass. A trip out in the harbor fluke, flounder and even bigger stripers. We also dug some clams and quahogs. We had easy access from this shorefront property after enjoying a brisk coffee and watching sunrise from the upstairs deck. We cooked the fish on the weber grill and enjoyed early dinner on the lower deck; everything was there for us. This is our second visit to this gorgeous house and we will be back! Coming down with our older parents and two children this house and location is just perfect. The highlights for the grandparents were the first-floor bedroom, peaceful and quiet neighborhood, walks uptown to the coffee shop, village store and breakfast. We loved the views, drinks and sunsets from the upper deck, as well as, family cookouts on the lower deck. The kids loved the kayak rides to the sand flats in the middle of the harbor at low tide, exploring the harbor and fishing for stripe bass from the shore. We took advantage of the beach pass and chairs available as it was unseasonably warm. The reviews aren’t kidding this is the cleanest house we have ever stayed in. We loved the mix of antiques, comfortable furniture and fully equipped stainless steel kitchen. This is more like staying in a friend’s vacation house than a rental. This charming property is perfectly situated right on the water, offering stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere. The home is beautifully maintained, combining cozy elegance with modern amenities. The spacious living area is filled with natural light, making it a great spot to unwind. The kitchen is well-equipped, allowing us to prepare memorable meals together. Each bedroom is comfortable and tastefully decorated, providing a peaceful retreat. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space, where we spent many evenings soaking in the views and enjoying the fresh air. The location is fantastic for those looking to relax by the water, and it’s just a short drive to local shops and restaurants. Communication with the Vacasa team was seamless, and check-in was a breeze. Overall, the Barnstable Harbor Home is a hidden gem in Barnstable.
