Bonjour!

Great location near Lafayette Square. The staff are nice and very welcoming. However, my room's A/C didn't cool the room, and my daughters allergies had a terrible reaction during the 2 nights there, and cleared up about 24 hours after we left.

Great location!

Posted 18-Aug-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Shower pressure
Location: Walking distance to the White House.
Great location close by the White House! Hotel was well maintained or recently updated. Staff were professional and courteous. Only gripe was the shower, really need a strong shower to wake up and unfortuantly I've had stronger rain showers to get soaked in.

Very lovely hotel and gracious staff

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: Centrally located, Metro and excellent restaurants w/in 2 blocks, coffee and breakfast w/in 1 block, Capital Bikeshare 2 blocks away.
Cons: Room has fridge but minibar takes up the ENTIRE inside so fridge is unusable without risking getting charged.
Location: National Museum of Women in the Arts w/in 3 blocks, pick up Capital Bikeshare w/in 2 blocks and ride to the Mall, White House, etc..
Staff was very helpful, room was spotless, not overly large but well designed (except maybe too tight space between bed and bathroom entrance), excellent shower.

Excellent Hotel and Location in D.C.

Posted 13-Aug-2015
Pros: Mostly I liked the friendly, helpful staff. The staff here were quite friendly without being imposing.
Location: The hotel is central to major D.C. sites and good restaurants.
My husband and I spent two nights at the Sofitel in Washington, D.C. and enjoyed everything about our stay. The hotel is attractive, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff is made up of very friendly, helpful, hospitable people. The location is quite close to many of the attractions in D.C. with Lafayette Square just a very short walk away. We were able to comfortably walk to the White House, the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, etc. We did not eat dinner at the hotel, but we had a lovely breakfast, and one evening enjoyed a cocktail in the lounge. Once again, the ambiance and staff were very pleasant. I will definitely stay here on our next trip to Washington, D.C.

Sofitel Washington

Posted 10-Aug-2015
Pros: The staff is friendly, courteous and accommodating
Cons: none of the king size superior rooms have a view and although the rooms are well appointed, it is a bit dreary if you had to spend any time in them
Location: The hotel is in an excellent location to all the DC memorials, museums, metro and sites.
Washington, DC is a great city to discover. Most of the museums are free and the quality is excellent. Be prepared for a lot of walking so bring your most comfortable pair. The architecture and scale is grand. We didn't have a bad meal in DC and you can find any range you want.
