It's very clean and... efficient! Tight fit in the room if you've got a big suitcase that won't fit under the bed, but it's simple, and if you do need something the staff will go out of their way to accommodate. Nice rooftop bar - view of sunset and the Lincoln Memorial. Pizza is outstanding - excellent crust - nice balance of everything else.

Cute little quaint hotel close to all tourists spots. Very safe neighborhood. This is perfect for a solo traveler as it is a microtel. Overall great stay.

The Hive is a fun, historical hotel with nearby GW, the Kennedy center, boat rentals, Washington Harbor within walkable distance. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They make a few great meals and have a fun happy hour and rooftop bar. We definitely recommend this hotel if you like fun, unique but still comfortable, clean stays!

Amazing! The staff went above and beyond. I have never stayed in a micro hotel before but I will be back. At first I thought it might be small, but who spends all their time on vacation in their room? Perfect space. Super clean. great bed. A huge thank you to Front desk help: Roberto, Brooke, and James, for answering all my questions and guiding me to great restaurants. They all took their time to ask how you were doing, what your plans were, etc. Thank you to Shawnee, head of housekeeping, for helping me to my room and showing how to use the the remote shades, and also just greeting me each day with a huge smile and taking a minute to chat. Lastly, thank you to Ricardo (Rich or Richard), for bringing me countless buckets of ice and a refrigerator. Always smiling. The Hive has great staff! I also had the best room, 401, with SIX windows!

Small rooms but great value (you get more than what you pay for). Excellent pizza! WiFi wasn't working in our room on the 5th floor. Lovely rooftop bar and restaurant. Great an excellent service.

I booked the "accessible room" as this is a " mikro" hotel. The room was very bright and not small .Was very clean, has all amenities in the bathroom. The whole personal tried there best to make our stay enjoyable. Special thanks to DeDee, Kera , Sana, James and the girls at the bar. Would really recommend this place.

I stayed in a closet under the stairs at the Hive Hotel, which they said was my “room.” I paid for an upgrade to have more windows and higher ceilings, and I had them, but the bed barely fit in the room, and I had no more than 3 feet from the bed to the wall on any side, and 3 feet is being generous. For roughly $200 a night, I do not recommend this place. I should have done more research. Honestly, there is only one room under and in the stairwell, so maybe other rooms are better, but on multiple occasions, I had to inform people Loitering in the stairs that this is a room and move along; on the bright side, I didn't have to raise my voice or open the door to do it.

It’s important to keep in mind this hotel is supposed to be made up of smaller rooms. If that’s not your thing you won’t do well here. We spend almost no time in our room so less is better for us. Pros: •friendly staff (more than accommodating to requests) •cleanliness. Room and hotel was overall very clean. •accessibility. About a 3 block walk to the metro or 5 block walk to the White House. Very easy to get an Uber from and relatively short ride to the airport. •location. Felt very safe in the area. It was pretty quiet but I can imagine that had to do with the college next door being out for summer break. •they also have a nice roof top bar and one in the long area. Cons: •technology. TVs weren’t smart tvs. Didn’t have screen mirroring accessible either. We just ended up grabbing a fire stick from target so we could watch all our shows at the end of the night. Not a deal breaker for us but could be for some people. •wish they had a few more breakfast options. It was limited and not really to line your standard stuff you would expect.

The rooms were cleaned and had new beds. The room itself was sort of small, but not a big deal. With smaller size, there were no amenities in room like fridge, microwave, or coffee/tea maker. Also, the hotel itself also didn't have any ice or water service, which in hot days is brutal. My biggest problem was noise. Our room was in level 1, which was technically -1, right below the bar. The sound of chairs being moved, people walking and all sorts of noise didn't stop well past 12am and started right at 6am, making sleep and rest impossible. The staff were nice and location was pretty close to everything.
