We brought food with us to cook at the house which was a good idea as the closest place was at least 15 or 20 minutes away and a lot of windy gravel roads. The location is remote but very peaceful. The pool was a hit with everyone, and we enjoyed the lake with the kayaks and paddleboard. We had a couple of problems (whole-house sound system wasn't working, and we had to have someone come out to take care of an issue with the pool) but Vacasa responded quickly and the minor inconveniences were resolved promptly. Be aware that you have a long drive on gravel roads to get to the home. The cell service is spotty and wifi in the 2nd house is limited. One large main house and a guest house separated by a pool. The kids loved it. On last night's stay there was a tornado and storms that knocked out power to the house and two large trees. I called and put in a ticket and the management company had the trees removed and a few hours. While we were waiting the cleaning staff walked up the hill climed over two trees to check on us. Jul 20, 2024 #### Great family getaway spot! There was plenty of room to sleep 13- 7 adults (3 couples + grandma) 5 teenaged boys (they loved the bunk room!) and one girl. There was plenty of space for people to spread out when they needed alone time. The 2 kitchens made it possible for us to store and prepare food for the whole family after one outing to the local grocery. The kids loved having a pool available at all times to themselves, except when adults called for adult swim time. S’mores around the fire pit were a big hit, as were the kayaks, the stand up paddle board, and life jackets for floating in the lake. We came with our kids and grand kids to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. After being in the house for a day, we noticed there was a foul smell when we walked outside and which you could also smell from some of the rooms in the main house. It seemed to be the septic tank??? We killed flies inside constantly each day. We did not leave the doors opened so I don’t know where they came from, maybe the septic tank??? We arrived to poorly cleaned houses. Dishes were dirty with food still inside them. Cobwebs and dirt in corners, floors, and more. Some bedding was dirty and doors would not lock. We had issues with lights/fans not working in two rooms. When you pay a cleaning fee, it is frustrating to arrive and have to clean. No refund was issued for cleaning fee after we made property owners aware. While at the property, they did communicate well with us, but after we received no communication regarding our complaints. While we would love to use this property again, it is not worth it for the price cleaning yourself once you arrive. ##### Meredith H. Nov 4, 2024 #### Great Home- Poor Customer Service The home was absolutely gorgeous, and really well suited for multiple families. The grill and fire pit were perfect for fall. (I will say that the bunk bed beds were not very comfortable for adults, but that's to be expected. The last 5 miles of the drive are SUV preferred.) But the customer service experience was one of the worst I've had at a vacation rental. There are no printed materials at the house with the usual information: how to turn the gas line on for the grill, where to find the keys, where to find cleaning supplies, check out instructions, etc. They seem to be pushing you to use the virtual chat option but they aren't prompt in providing helpful responses. It took hours to find out where to take the trash. You also have to checkout virtually after you leave the house, but there's poor cellphone service by the time you're out of the gate so you can't. We had a lot of amenity issues with the main thing being the A/C was out in the main house for 2 full days at the end of our trip. The pool is nice but the whole system seems to need an upgrade. The heater did not work well in it. The sauna did not work either. I would definitely bring larger clearance cars to make it up the gravel road and large hill up to the property. We did really like the property and the staff responded quickly, we understand that the A/C can go out randomly but all the other issues with the A/C did not leave a good taste in our mouth. The outdoor pool area could use more often cleaning and there are bats and bat poop all over the patio. The bedding seems to need some upgrades but it is a really nice place with great views and the chance to unplug and relax. Vacasa told us we will get a refund for the night without A/C, but if no refund is given it would be closer to 2 stars. We had a group of 5 families stay for an extended weekend, the longer we were here the more issues we discovered with the property. Some issues could not be remediated during our stay, but issues that could be, Vacasa did not attempt to resolve them just created a ticket. Amenities advertised but not working: Whole home audio system Sauna WiFi in guest house, therefore, no TVs in the guest house would work or the outdoor TV. Outdoor bar area is grossly neglected and hasn’t been cleaned in quite sometime and not usable unless you spent an afternoon cleaning it. Pool pump did not seem to be working properly and was quite cold, assuming the heater was not working either. In addition to these things not working, one bedroom in the guest house (king room) has mold growing all over the ceiling and coming down the wall. Quite the health hazard. Multiple outlets in the bunk room do not work. Night stand in queen room in guest house has a broken leg and it’s just propped up on it. Super safe when a baby bumps it or tries to pull up. Dishwasher in guest house leaks. Pros: plenty of beds and space for large groups to spread out. Laundry pods and dishwasher pods are supplied. Kitchens are well appointed, with exception of very few hand towels and wash rags. Firewood for the fire pit is available. The property is beautiful but sadly has a lot of issues. Vacasa has not been speedy in response to the issues, still going back and forth with them 2 weeks later.. ##### Abby K.
