We came to this hotel due to fact we had a bad experience at another local hotel (the Hawthorn in Southfield) and still needed to temporarily stay somewhere other than our home. The Staff were great, the rooms were clean and the experience was satisfying. We would stay at this location again if we would ever need to.
We reserved a queen delux room. The first room we were given was not a delux room, it was dirty, there was food in the abnormally loud refrigerator, only one towel, it wasn't comfortable at all. We requested a room change, the staff was very nice and switched us to a delux queen room. The room was 100 percent better, we still refrained from removing our shoes but that's normal for us. It was peacefully quiet at night, and the rooms were obviously renovated. Granite walls and countertops. Very visually appealing. Also, the TV had a lot of interesting channels, make sure to check that out.
This is a comfortable, surprisingly quiet motel on a busy boulevard. Rooms are comfortable and clean, equipped with a mini-fridge and microwave. It provides access to the northern Detroit suburbs (Oak Park, Southfield) in a safe location, and is reasonably priced. Buffet breakfast provides good variety.
My hotel stay was terrific. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and quiet. Excellent breakfast. All of that was accomplished even though there are some renovations in the hotel. I would pick this hotel in my next trip to Detroit.
Another Detroit suburb, Southfield is home to nearly 80,000 people. The Southfield Town Center, an office complex with a Westin hotel and a conference center; and the American Center, a high-rise office tower, are found here.
