We enjoyed our stay at Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo very much. The resort is one of several in a larger complex, which is exactly what we wanted in order to have access to more amenities while still seeing the same people around. If you are hesitant about traveling, let me say that you will never feel as much like you're in your own private paradise in the Riviera Maya as you will right now. Occupancy is low, so the service is excellent and personalized. Unfortunately, not everything is open on the resort for the same reason, but we never felt like we lacked for anything and although we had to walk a little farther for good coffee, it was still less walking than we did in college.
Pleasantly surprised by the good food and the many subtle eco friendly touches like reusable cups, purified water stations, no use of disposable plastic, and adorable repurposed glass jars for breakfast yogurt and juices.
We saw coatimundis, iguanas, agoutis, raccoons, squirrels, peafowl (inc. hen w/chicks!), flamingos, koi fish, a black swan, great kiskadees, tropical mockingbirds, great tailed grackles, yellow lored parrots, bats, and frigate birds right on the resort- talk about a tropical vacation. The lazy river was fun too and the entertainment was an unexpected bonus; we saw a Queen tribute show and a Mayan inspired circus act with aerial silks and balancing acts.
We also appreciated how easy the resort made it to get the necessary test to return home. Would definitely return!
