Embassy West SENIOR LIVING (no longer a Hotel)
We were questioning our GPS as we pulled into the hotel's driveway... The place is no longer "... Hotel"; it is "... SENIOR LIVING"! As it turns out, they are "transitioning to a senior living centre". Of course, that quickly explained why we saw only elderly people lounging around the lobby. There was only one elevator for guest service, to which the staff had higher priority access - as we were very rudely made aware of, by two staff members pushing a trolley full of tableware. The room was clean. However, everything around was redesigned to be "accessible". We quickly discovered that the commode overflowed when flushed. The phone's shortcut keys the room service did not work. I had to dial 0 to get my complaint out. The first person who came in could not help. In fact, she gave us a look that said "what did you DO?". She eventually sent someone else over, who came in equipped with a plunger. After what I assume was 5 minutes or so of very disturbing sounds, he quickly rushed out, saying "it's okay now" as he stepped out. No apologies or acknowledgement of the inconvenience we felt from anybody. After having driven 5 hours through a snow storm, I was in no condition to even try to discuss our dissatisfaction with the hotel management and/or go hotel hunting. I feel that I have been cheated by Hotels.com for listing this place as a hotel.
