Really great room and hotel bar and lobby area. Espresso machine in the room is awesome! Bathroom is really nice but privacy is not great (French doors have a gap and shower window into the room is semi-opaque. The bed is comfy. The room was nice and quiet but a refrigerator would have been nice. Parking garage is not affiliated with the hotel but is okay. I would stay again. And bring a cooler! 😀

Parking was in a lot across the street and it is in and out pay parking so as we came for a wedding we were in and out often and it was expensive. Also toll pay booths were not working and we often got stuck and could not exit having to wait for a parking attendant. Staff were not very supportive- friendly sure but did not take initiative to help (we had a 1 year old and lots of bags which we unloaded infront of the hotel because of pay parking being far away and they watched my struggle but no one offered to help. Key cards had to stay inside light switches to stay on- super inconvenient. No breakfast restaurant just a coffee bar and bar. This is not a hotel for people with families. One of our rooms didn’t have a mini fridge- and one did but it was so small it fit nothing. Also the shampoos were stinky we didn’t enjoy the scent. All in all we would not recommend this place to families and it’s downtown Ottawa so you’ll see lots of homeless and drug addicts.

The Alt hotel is a very nice hotel, I've been there a number of times. Clean stylish rooms, friendly helpful staff, good internet for working from room. No complainnts about the hotel. I will note that Bank St and downtown Ottawa in general is becoming very seedy. My experience has more been that it's depressing than dangerous/violent but lots of homelessness, urine-soaked sidewalks, drug addictions, people with drug/mental illlness issues screaming at each other etc etc. Sad that the nation's capitol has gone in this direction just steps away from the Parliament buildings.
