If you have any other options escape this place
when I booked this place I wasn't informed about additional payment ($15) if I make check in after 9 p.m. When I've booked this place I received the hostel internal rules and there was this information. But I had no options to cancel my reservation on Hotels.com because this internal rule about additional payment for late check in was not good for me (and I wasn't informed about this rule on Hotels.com during booking process). Well, I tried to be in time but because of traffic I was in the hostel about 9.30-9.45 p.m. and they charge me additional $15 (GOOD IDEA for BUSINESS!!!). Besides, there is no options to work with your computer in the evening because the Internal rule of Quiet hours 10p.m.-6a.m.(you'll get this rules when your reservation is completed):10 p.m. and no light in the hostel and you can't sit in the living-room downstairs because there is no door on the second floor where is sleeping area. So, if you come at 9.00-9.30 p.m. you have only short time to eat smth and have shower but no chances to plan you next day trip. I tried to save some money to stay there but paid more than expected :( And big unrespect for Hotels.com because you receive internal rules of the hostel when your reservation is completed and you can't cancel it if this rules is not good for you.

Stay was okay, would not recommend
My stay was okay....there was only one bathroom/shower and one portable toilet for all of the hostel of like 10 people, so that made it inconvenient if you want to take a shower. Check-in hours are also extremely inconvenient, only from 6-9pm. If you check in after that it’s $15/hour. I wish it was like other hostels where you could still self check in after the check in time, or extend it to 10 or 11pm. The front person staff was fake friendly, tried to be nice but could see through the fakeness. The pros are that the people who stayed there are nice and cool, with the exception of the couple whose bed was next to mine and were being inconsiderate and made noises in the morning. It also seemed like some rules were arbitrary and restricting, like no showering after 10pm due to noise. Overall, my stay was okay. I would not recommend if you could somewhere a little closer to Yosemite or could afford a little more.

Great place to stay! Very clean, very friendly. An employee offered me to join her for drinks and I shared a dinner with the owner.

The first night I felt very welcome, the seconds night I felt part of the family and the third night I felt at home! Not a place for those who can't deal with cold temperatures at night. Yosemite National Park is about 1h drive away.

This is not even a Hostel. This is more like a little house where people lives as a community, almost as a family, everyone here is so nice. Jake, the owner, do his job with love and likes to take care of his hosts (for example, I was there for the 4th of July and he spent pretty much the whole day cooking to provide everyone an awesome dinner). As a backpacker or passionate traveler, you will instantly fall in love with this place. You can easily drive to Oakhurst (25 minutes) and take the bus to Yosemite, but you gotta wake up early though.

The host was very friendly, everything was clean. I love the samll puppy. I would recommend to bring a sleeping mask if you stay in the mixed room upstairs. There is no door and sometimes people forget to turn off the light downstairs. The bed made some noises when I moved.
