Welcome to our charming pair of houses, a unique and delightful arrangement that offers the perfect setting for gatherings, celebrations, and memorable experiences with your loved ones. Our homes are situated one mile from the heart of downtown, placing you within walking distance of a plethora of shops, restaurants, cafes, cultural attractions, and New Bern's cherished historic architecture. One of our neighboring properties is currently unoccupied and awaiting some TLC, adding to the unique, eclectic atmosphere of the neighborhood. While it may appear a bit rough around the edges, rest assured our home is well-maintained and fully equipped to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Our two charming cottages are walkable to downtown New Bern. Onsite parking is limited. PLEASE LIMIT PARKING TO TWO CARS IN MARKED SPACES. Overflow parking is available around the corner on Queen Street by the beautiful Cedar Grove Cemetery. PARKING Guest parking spots are marked on the driveway. Please limit cars in marked spots to two vehicles, as these four spots are shared by both back houses. Overflow parking is available on Queen Street in front of Cedar Grove Cemetery. DO NOT PARK IN UNMARKED AREAS AS YOU WILL BLOCK THE NEIGHBORS! The neighbors are permanent residents and we aim to not make daily life hard for them! THE SPACE A generous 1384 and 1095 square feet respectively, our two cottages boast a total of 5 bedrooms with a mix of queen and full beds and TVs, 4 full bathrooms, 2 upstairs balconies, 2 downstairs front patios, and 2 back patios with dining furniture and 2 propane grills! EXTERIOR Unwind on either front patio or upstairs balcony at the end of a day enjoying downtown New Bern, or grill out one of the 2, or both, fenced in back patios, which are connected by a gate. 2 LIVING ROOMS The living room sofa in house 1 pulls out into a bed if someone wants separate sleeping arrangements. The sofas in house 2 fold out into twin beds. Each open-concept living room combines with the dining space and connects to the fully-equipped kitchen in the home. 2 KITCHENS Each fully-equipped kitchen offers all the necessary appliances and utensils for a seamless cooking experience, including a dishwasher. Savor your choice of drip coffee or Keurig. We provide coffee, creamer, and sweeteners. 510 George - All bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor; bathrooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floor. 508A George - All bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the 2nd floor. PRIMARY BEDROOM - HOUSE 1 Bedroom 1 features a comfortable queen size bed, wall-mounted Roku TV, luggage rack and closet. BEDROOM 2 - HOUSE 1 Bedroom 2 features a comfortable full size bed, Roku TV, work station, and closet. Step out the front door to enjoy the upstairs front patio. BEDROOM 3 - HOUSE 1 Bedroom 3 features a comfortable full size bed, Roku TV, and closet. BATHROOMS - HOUSE 1 There are two full bathrooms in this home: one upstairs and one downstairs. PRIMARY BEDROOM - HOUSE 2 Bedroom 1 features a comfortable queen size bed, wall-mounted Roku TV, luggage rack and closet. Step out the front door to enjoy the upstairs front patio. BEDROOM 2 - HOUSE 2 Bedroom 2 also features a comfortable queen size bed, Roku TV, luggage rack, and closet. BATHROOMS - HOUSE 2 Both bathrooms are upstairs. Enjoy a walk-in shower in one, and a soaker tub in the other. 2 BACK PATIOS Surrounded by privacy fencing, the 2 back patios each include a dining table with a total of 10 chairs. We also provide a propane grill on each patio for outdoor cooking and dining. LAUNDRY A free washer and dryer complete with detergent and dryer sheets are provided in each cottage for your convenience. Laundry closet in house 1 is on the first floor and in house 2 is on the second floor. We enjoyed being within walking distance of everything downtown New Bern had to offer. The homes were comfortable and included everything we needed. We utilized the outdoor grills to cookout which made feeding a large family a breeze. We also found several restaurants in town that were able to accommodate us. We had 6 vehicles but there was plenty of available parking on George and Queen Streets to accommodate our extra vehicles. Property was exactly as described so we felt we were prepared for our trip. Communication from the hosts was very clear. I highly recommend the New Bern Trolley Tour if you’re new to the area to learn more about the history and everything this area has to offer. ##### Lisa G. That ended up being fine and gave everyone plenty of space. Dogs are allowed, but we encountered the next door neighbor who is not dog friendly and was very rude one morning because one dog was off leach for a brief moment, (small, very old dog). Both units were very clean, one did have ants all over the kitchen counters but property management was very quick to address the issue and took care of it with some ant traps. This is a full time rental, and all the beds are not very comfortable. All parties in our group thought so anyway. It’s very walkable, and the neighborhood is what it is.
