WHAT’S NEARBY Pacific View Escape is in a rural area called Table Bluff overlooking the ocean, Humboldt Bay, just minutes from the Wildlife Refuge, and within a short two-and-a-half-mile drive to the beach. It's a bit off the beaten path so you may want to stock up. It is, however, centrally located on the Redwood Coast. It's about a 14-mile drive from Eureka, 11 miles from the Historic Village of Ferndale, less than 10 miles from Fortuna, and about 25.8 miles from the Avenue of the Giants and Humboldt Redwoods State Park. THINGS TO KNOW A Tesla Electric Vehicle Charger is available. This house has a backup generator. This home's WiFi is not high-speed and will not support streaming. There is a caretaker on site in the back cabin. He has off site parking and own private entrance and will not interface with with guests. Previous guests had reconnected cords in the wrong connections leaving the instructions not matching up with what we were seeing on the screen. The beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water and no ant issues other guests had mentioned. For anyone who intends to cook meals I would suggest to go to Safeway in Fortuna ahead of time and stock up on your needs: coffee/tea, flour, sugar, foil, plastic wrap etc... There are some seasonings others have left. Perfect for my family who was in town for a graduation. It was a short distance to many conveniences but far enough away that it felt private and peaceful. Thank you for the wonderful stay. We saw deer, rabbits and even had a beautiful view of the ocean and sunset. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated being able to grill dinner and relax on the deck. Felt like home being able to wash clothes and stay in our own bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable. Spent a lot of time looking out of the large windows at the birds and rabbits. Our only issue was that there was not enough utensils. 1 teaspoon and 3 tablespoons. 4 forks but many butter knives. For a house that sleeps 6, it could be a problem.
