Smoke alarm missing from enclosure. Musty smell. Some slight concern about linen cleanliness. There are no services at location or near enough to walk - bring what you need. That said, the manager was fairly responsive and did let us check in 3 hrs early. The property offers lovely sprinkled ocean views throughout, giving us just the right touch of seaside atmosphere without being right on the beach. One of the biggest highlights for us was how dog-friendly the property is — our pup felt just as at home as we did! There was plenty of space to walk around and enjoy the fresh air. The only part that was a miss was the fire pit — unfortunately, it wouldn’t light during our stay. It would have been a wonderful feature to enjoy in the evenings, but it didn’t take away from the overall peaceful experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful, low-key stay with beautiful surroundings and a laid-back vibe, this is a wonderful choice. Beds were incredibly comfortable and I slept so good! My ONLY complaint, is that the fireplace cant be on for long before making the room feel like a sauna, and there is no way to turn town the flames. And the thermostat was a little hard to figure out how to manage the room temperature, even WITH the instructions provided. But not a huge deal. Other than that, I had a very comfortable stay. We really liked the property and room and the owners were very helpful when we needed assistance. The only reason I’m not giving it an overall 5 stars is because instead of being charged half of the fee upon booking (like it stated we would be), we were charged the entire fee when we got there. We came from Sacramento for a weekend birthday getaway and it truly felt like a nice relaxing mini vacation. We both felt at peace staying here and loved the ocean view in the morning and evenings.
