Mountain road leading to the cabin is packed gravel and can be bumpy and is steep. It takes 10-15 minutes up the mountain to reach the home. We recommend keeping a steady speed of 10-15 mph and keep driving without stopping on the gravel roads as that could cause ruts forming and will make it difficult to proceed forward. This is a mountain top home. Cedar Rock Cabin is a stunning 5 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath with spectacular 200° plus year round views. Imagine the star gazing, sunrise and sunsets! The deck wraps around 3 sides, is both covered and open. Sit and rock in the chairs along with chaise lounges and a table with 4 chairs for eating outside. A propane grill is provided for the grill master. The views can be seen from all points on the deck and from within the cabin. Step inside to a wide open floor plan, a well stocked kitchen with updated appliances, and an island with 4 stools for the kids. The dining area seats 6\. The Great Room has plenty of windows to let the sun shine in, along with 2 French doors leading out to the deck. 2 comfy couches, rocking chair, and large chair, along with flat screen TV, Dish TV, and a wood burning fireplace make for relaxing family time. There is also a half bath off the entrance hall. There is a master bedroom on the main level with an en-suite bath. Other bedroom with an en-suite bath is located upstairs. Heading downstairs are three bedrooms. Guest bedroom with Queen bed, Kids bedroom with 2 twin beds, and another Guest bedroom with Queen bed also. 2 full baths are located just outside the Guest bedrooms. One has pedestal sink with walk-in shower only, while the second also has pedestal sink but tub/shower combo. Washer and dryer are on this level in their own area. The family room boasts flat screen TV with Dish, pool table, 2 couches and 2 easy chairs. Nap time? French doors lead out to the ground level garden and the fire pit. S'mores are a must. Come and enjoy Cedar Rock Cabin. This wonderful home with it's awesome views and peacefulness, will be the vacation you, family, and friends will talk of for quite some time. See you again next year! While it's in the Lake Lure jurisdiction, to get to the Lake Lure beach was a 20 min drive, but we came for the views and mountain life. The house itself is in great condition (bear/mountain themed) and was roomy for all of us. Communication with the property owner was extremely quick and efficient. The drive up to the house was a little anxiety-provoking, but mostly because we are not mountain natives. We did not need a 4WD/AWD vehicle (2 minivans, and 2 SUVs), but that could have made things a little easier. Either way, we will definitely consider staying here again. Driveway is very steep, we measured it and it came in at about 17 degrees steep! We saw a beat on our last night there. Top deck is where we hung out before and after our busy days.
