The house was more spacious than I expected. It was clean and welcoming. It was great to be on the water, and I went for nice kayak. The parking requires walking along the edge of a busy street.
The check-in process was nearly a disaster. The host forgot to send the check-in info so I had to reach out to Vrbo customer service directly on the day of my check-in. Vrbo was able to send me an old check-in info email that had the keypad code. Later that day, the host did finally reach out and send me their updated keypad code (and phone number in case there were issues). However, when I actually went to the property, the new code they sent did not work. Thankfully, the old email from Vrbo had the correct code so we were able to enter the house but the whole process was unnecessarily anxiety inducing. The house itself is decent and matched the description though it's clearly a "rental property."

This stay was okay. Being on the water was amazing and having Kayaks was an extra touch! But it was a surprise to not have our check in information till almost 3pm when we were told wed have it that morning and had no check out info. We also would have loved to have had a heads up that we had to park along side a busy road and be careful getting in and out of the car because of how close it was. Walk all the way down the road, down a hill and through train tracks to get to the place. As it is an A Frame, the bedroom was upstairs, which would have been amazing with the view but the AC upstairs blew hot air all weekend so we had to sleep on the pull out couch. As we took our first shower there was only 1 wash cloth and I checked 2 guests as staying. Thankfully my partner had plumbers tape in is trunk because the shower was spraying out everywhere it wasn't supposed to. Which was an easy fix but that is the last thing we wanted to worry about while on vacation.

Could do better
This is a property that exemplifies an absentee owner. It was clean inside but exterior was not well maintained. Fire pit rotted through, life vests moldy and deck smelled bad. The lake is beautiful to look at but full of seaweed and has water moccasin snakes around. It does have a two person limit so it’s overpriced.

The house is adorable and in a great location. While most things were clean, it could use a deep clean -- especially the walls, doors, and curtains which none seemed very clean. With property on the water, I expect a few bugs, but found several spiders in the house. We were given details instructions on parking but never found any of the landmarks given nor did the email have a photo attachment as indicated. We messaged the host to ensure where we parked was ok and never received a response (this was a 3 night stay). We also messaged for checkout instructions which I couldn't locate in the listing - no response. I'm glad we didn't have a timely, major issue. While I was completely expecting the walk/stairs to the property from the parking area, if you have any mobility issues or small children this will be very difficult. The stairs are steep, slick when wet, narrow, and old! Parking is on a very busy street making unloading/loading a little challenging. The house itself has everything you need and the views are absolutely amazing. The deck and "shore area" is extremely small, but we enjoyed having coffee and lunch on the deck. The location is perfect to explore Ithaca. What we loved best: location and view. The most disappointing: complete lack of communication from the host, areas of the house needing a deeper clean, spiders. Things that didn't bother us but renters need to understand: The difficulty of parking and getting to the unit.

Nice but multiple disappointments.
Parking and descending to property is dangerous due to heavy truck traffic, no direct stairs, crossing railroad tracks. Bedding not washed. Found Wet sheets and towels in dryer. Toaster malfunction. Trash. Container lid kept falling off. Tub and refrigerator required cleaning. Host not readily available. Did his best to acknowledge issues.
Spectacular. view. Cute house. Host is nice but not around.
Great location- very close to colleges. Lake Cayuga is beautiful and we were so thankful for the early morning kayak trip. Thanks for sharing your place.
This tiny house was bigger than expected and all the space we needed. Great location being close to walking trails, down town and wineries. Having beach access and kayaks were a fun bonus. The only down side is the proximity to the neighbors but overall a great experience. We would love to come back.
We enjoyed our stay at the tiny house on the lake. It was perfect for our stay to visit our daughter at Cornell!
I would not recommend for elderly or someone with walking issues. You need to navigate stairs to the property and walk over a train track.
We stayed at this home for two nights in October. The host was responsive to our questions and the check-in process was smooth. Parking was tricky but the host made us aware of that as soon as we booked, so he was very upfront about this. The view of the lake was stunning! It was calming to hear waves lapping at the shoreline right outside the sliding glass doors. I would say that the whole house could use some cosmetic updates (fixing drywall holes, painting, replacing lightbulbs etc.). But overall it was a nice way to spend our weekend.
