Room was clean, double beds were comfortable, and balcony had great views of the city and the ocean. Location was perfect too as it’s close to the mall and Ala Moana beach is walking distance away. Parking was very convenient as well. Communication with the host was great. Not having a towel service wasn’t an issue for us, but something to keep in mind if frequent towel change is important to you. I would definitely stay here again! ##### Hong K. I am writing to express my disappointment with our check-in experience on December 25, which was an important day for our family. Our family of four waited nearly one hour in the hotel lobby to complete check-in. The hotel system did not have my name listed for Room 3024\. Although the hotel staff tried to assist by contacting the room operator, and I also sent emails and left phone messages, It later became clear that our information had not been properly submitted to the hotel, which caused significant stress and prevented us from checking in smoothly and with peace of mind. This situation negatively affected our schedule and overall mood that day. In addition, during the week prior to check-in, I received nearly ten reminder emails from the host, which felt excessive for a holiday stay meant to be relaxing. We had a great stay at this property. Room was clean. Located on the 30th floor with partial views of the ocean, city view and mountain view. On Friday nights, if the Hilton is having their firework show, you're able to see it right from the balcony. It's really a great location. Quick and easy walk to Ala Moana mall. Check in was a smooth and easy process. There is a microwave and mini fridge in the room, along with plates, cups and utensils. They also provide dish soap and a sponge to wash the dishes. The only thing I wish was different was that we could get a refresh of our bath towels without me having to wash them myself or pay extra to get new ones. We stayed for 9 days. All in all, it was a great stay, and I would definitely stay here again. ##### Kim C. It was in a fantastic location, short walk to the Ala Moana mall with great food options and shopping. The baby beach was super close which was perfect for our kids. And you can’t beat that skyline view of Honolulu from the balcony. The hotel itself was also nice. Would definitely stay here again! ##### Connie W. I ran into a couple of questions and issues and each time, it was the next day or several hours before I received a reply with no resolution. We had a tight turn around for check in since we had a birthday party to get ready for and when I messaged the host saying the room wasn't ready at gaurunteed check in time, she responded a couple hours later when we were alerted the room was ready.The room was some what clean but the coffee maker still had water in it from previous use and only had one small roll of toilet for a 5 night stay. Anything additional needed we were told to purchase. At check out we were informed that dishes needed to be washed and an extra fee would be charged for ANY TRASH left behind. This was not in the listing or the check in information. There was no dish soap or sponge and there are no large trash cans nearby to dispose of trash. We actually checked out a day early because of the horrible experience so drove back to the hotel to do the best we can in disposing of ALL the trash in the room. It wasn't worth the stress and hassle of staying here. I should've just booked with the hotel directly. ##### Sacha T. Ala Moana Hotel is a beautiful place to celebrate special occasions! My family and I recently celebrated my 60th Birthday in Honolulu Hawaii!! We enjoyed the ocean, mountain and city views from the balcony!! Hotel restaurants provide great food!! Connecting mall and walking distance from the Waikiki beach!! Tour pick up drop off at hotel! Staff and guests were nice! The room was supposed to be ready at 3 but when I got there at 4:45 and tried to check in at the front desk, the paperwork hadn’t been sent in. I called the property manager and he was difficult to understand and got impatient with me. He said he’d send the paperwork in 5 min. I checked again and still nothing. I then called him back again at least 3x and he didn’t answer. I ended up asking VRBO for help and they finally helped me to contact the host for the paperwork. We finally got the key after 1/2 an hr. When we opened the door to the room it hadn’t been cleaned! We left and I had to call the property manager again. Apparently the housekeeper went home sick. They sent someone to clean the room and it was finally ready at 7:30 pm, 4 1/2 hrs later. Sadly, they blamed the check in problem on the hotel though the 4 hotel workers at the front desk were so helpful! They also blamed the housekeeper for not telling them the room wasn’t clean. In my eyes none of this was my fault though I took the hit. The host refunded me the cleaning fee but I thought I should get more than that for the huge inconvenience. ##### Cori M.
