“By the Sea” is a beautiful 5/4.5 5-year-old ocean view coastal home with a private pool, in sought-after Fort Morgan, AL. It is located in a private beachfront community on the white sugar sands of the Gulf of Mexico. Ideally situated on top of a sand dune close to the ocean, this gulf view home with its in-ground pool is the perfect setting to enjoy a happy, relaxing family or friends vacation getaway.

Located just 13 miles from Gulf Shores (all its amenities) on the Ft. Morgan peninsula and surrounded by beautiful coastal vegetation, “By the Sea” sits one block from the beach and public access is 0.5 miles (golf cart rental suggested). With its 9 foot ceilings, 5 bedrooms, and 4.5 baths, this beautiful beach house sleeps 10 adults comfortably or 8 adults and up to four children. Unwind as you take in the panoramic view of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico with its stunning sunrises and sunsets.

The top-level has an open living and dining area with French doors out to the deck, perfect for sitting and taking in the soothing sound of the ocean, the salt air, gulf views, and open starry skies! The living area has a large sectional sofa providing plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to watch an awesome sunset or catch a movie on the flat-screen TV. Many of the coastal furnishings and art were created by local artists. The dining area which seats 12 comfortably has room for the whole gang to enjoy family dinners or a board game with beautiful gulf views in the background.

The fully equipped kitchen has granite countertops with all the appliances and cookware you need for meal preparation along with bar counter/seating. The convenient half bath has a fun coastal driftwood decor. The top level also has a king-bedroom suite with a private fully tiled bath and a large glass-enclosed rain shower. The top deck has 4 Adirondack pub chairs to relax and take in the view or read a novel.

The second level has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. Two bedrooms have French doors opening onto the covered deck with soothing ocean sounds and gulf views overlook the pool below. The gulf-view bedrooms have queen beds and share a bath with private locked entrances. The 4th bedroom has a queen bed and a private bath. The 5th bedroom has a full-size bunk bed with a full-size trundle and a private bath, which is great for the kids. All 5 bedrooms have flat-screen TVs. A full-sized washer and dryer are conveniently located on the second level. The second-level deck has comfortable seating overlooking the pool offering a great gathering place.

The Ground Floor has an indoor entrance stairway with a storage room for chairs, grill, and pool equipment. Walk out to the gated saltwater in-ground pool with a large tanning shelf and seating area. Enjoy a night swim with spectacular in-pool lighting. A hot/cold poolside shower is conveniently located for a quick rinse after a day at the beach. There is plenty of seating around the pool including 3 lounges, a large table with seating for four, as well as a porch swing. Parking is provided under the house with additional parking on the driveway. Amenities include high-speed wireless internet, cable TV, and an assortment of board games and books.

A walk to the beach access is 0.5 miles. The house sits about 200 yards from the beach (as the crow fly.) Since the house is at the end of Driftwood (runs east-west), my family uses a golf cart to access the public beach. We originally had access about 1000 ft from the house, BUT two homes have been built in the area. So, renting a golf cart is a great way to haul our stuff to the beach for the day! Located at the end of Surfside Dr. are several reasonably priced places to rent golf carts, which I included in the info package.

About the Area: Fort Morgan is a well-kept secret with its beautiful white-sand beaches. You can enjoy the sunrises and sunsets from almost anywhere. Surrounded by nature in Fort Morgan you may see great blue herrings, turtles, dolphins, and much other wildlife - truly a unique coastal area. Fort Morgan is known for its historic Civil War-era fort, a 6,000-acre wildlife refuge, and the Dauphin Island Ferry to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. You can also enjoy bird-watching, charter fishing, golfing at world-class courses (Kiva Dunes next to Surfside Shores), offshore fishing, kayaking, biking, exploring the fort, shelling, ocean swimming, or simply relaxing enjoying this secluded paradise. Close by are several great restaurants offering fresh seafood, burgers, pizza, along with a store that has beach items, food, and necessities. If you feel like more entertainment Gulf Shores is just a 15-20-minute drive away. The Orange Beach Wharf/Restaurants/Shopping and Foley’s new OWA attraction and outlet mall are 30 minutes away.

HEATED POOL: Our pool is heated from October- May. The heater is a heat pump, and it will heat the water temperature in the pool to a maximum of 25* above the ambient (outside) temperature. The pool heater is set to 86*.
