Amazing
Wonderful host, beautiful property. 5 stars!

5/5 Excellent

Great secluded gateway !
The yurt is located alongside of the beautiful Smith river. Being in the hot tub and looking at the river was the most relaxing time. The rope bridge was amazing. We stayed there for 4 nights and wish to stay there longer.

Amazing private getaway, highly recommend!!
We were looking for something really different and fun for our two young boys and this Yurt was perfect! It was a long trek coming up from the Bay Area (almost 7 hours) but a beautiful drive almost the entire way. The spot is super secluded - definitely need to stop at Safeway in Crescent City for groceries beforehand as the Gasquet Market really doesn't have much. Crescent City is a good half-hour away from Gasquet (45 minutes if you take the 20 minute back road). You will need a jeep/truck/SUV/4x4 to get down the long back road - a sedan will not make it unscathed. We actually enjoyed driving it because it really made it feel like an adventure. The kitchen has everything you would need to make meals. There is heat, AC, DirecTV, a gas grill, washer dryer and bathroom/shower. The hot tub overlooking the river is great. The queen bed was super comfy - our boys slept in the loft. We enjoyed a campfire along the river every night, even in the rain (the Gasquet Market sells dry wood). The only knock - if we had to pick one - is the road noise on the other side of the river which frankly the river helps drown out. It was a little busy during the day but not at night. Given all of the other amazing qualities of this VRBO it did not bother us. We would give this 6 stars if we could. We stayed for 4 nights but wish we had booked for 7 - it was really that relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend!!

A delightful escape from the city! Plan to unplug!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-day stay. The yurt had everything we needed and our pup loved exploring the property. We soaked in the hot tub as frequently as we could - after walks to visit the pigs and in between card games. The hosts were very receptive and generously hauled our luggage across the bridge in their golf cart. Even with other units nearby, the yurt felt very private. The sound from the road across the river was minimal (however, it was a rainy holiday). We hope to return. Note: Plan to unplug! You might be able to send a text or photo but the wifi isn't great for calls. We welcomed the change of pace.

4/5 Good

Wonderful Stay!
The property was absolutely terrific and all the reviews accurately highlight how unique the Yurt experience is. My only note for future travelers is that there are two ways to get to the Yurt. There is a parking area off of Hwy 199 past the town where you can park and take a foot bridge over the river -- this needs to be coordinated with the caretaker who can use a cart to bring in your luggage. There is also the full drive in that goes about 1.7 miles up the mountain from the town market and then descends on a 1 mile hairpin turn road down to the Yurt on the river. I did the latter in the dark with rain which I would warn against if it can be avoided. The Yurt is about 400 yards across the river from Hwy 199, so you will hear some truck traffic, but eventually it blends into white noise with the rush of the river. Overall, a great experience!
