We spent two glorious weeks enjoying the Beach House, and when it was over, none of us wanted to leave. The Beach House has everything you might need for a luxurious stay in the cradle between the Cape Breton Highlands and the sea. Easy walks to Aucoin Bakery, Frog Pond Coffee, and a short drive to Cheticamp made everything convenient —and of course the rugged beauty of Cape Breton Highlands National Park is literally minutes away. Communications with Karen and Dave were spot-on - immediately there when you needed a question answered, but invisible otherwise. The home had plenty of room for us (2 couples traveling together) - we never even used the downstairs bedroom! We used the outdoor grill on the beautiful deck, which we used in conjunction with the fully - and I mean FULLY - stocked kitchen. Furnishings were comfortable and perfect for just enjoying the home, and taking in those million-dollar sunsets over the Bay of St. Lawrence. The sea and sky change colors and moods every single day.
As we were leaving, Hurricane Dorian was approaching, and arrived later that day. With incredible generosity, Karen and Dave offered us additional time if we wanted to hunker down ’til it passed, assuring us the Beach House was up to it. We didn’t stay, but their generosity in offering is only one of the many reasons we’ll be back as soon as we possibly can. As deserving of 5 stars as any property we’ve ever stayed in.
