Sep 7, 2025 Liked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy Check in was easy. Location on the lake was great. They had tubes and kayaks available. The deck was not clean and furniture was in poor condition. The landscaping was not attractive. The second master bedroom was in the basement and it was slightly musty. Downstairs bathroom hook fell off as soon as I put a towel on it and toilet handle fell off. First floor however was spacious with a nice gas fireplace. Kitchen stove was electric but the burners were not level which was a bit annoying. With a few small fixes and improvements we would stay again. Keep in mind bring your own firewood. They had only 4 wine glasses but had plenty of towels and dishes and other drink ware. The beach was a nice swimming beach and lake was very clean ##### Jennifer T. Fully stocked kitchen helped so we could cook all meals on site for a large group with no problems. The outside fire pit and wood stove downstairs were a nice treat for the cool fall weather. Lots of games and a fantastic ping pong table helped on rainy days. Two noteworthy items dropped the overall rating. The beds were quite uncomfortable. These were not just your normal “rental property” inexpensive mattresses, these were super loud uncomfortable beds that made it difficult to sleep well. Also, the downstairs had numerous spiders throughout our time there. It was bad enough that we went out and bought barrier spray and sticky traps to help minimize the impact. Understanding that cabins are susceptible to bugs (they are in the woods), this seemed quite excessive in the number of spiders and bugs. The beds and bugs were enough of an impact that several in the party would not rent this location again which is unfortunate because, otherwise, this was a fantastic venue. ##### Michael S. Feb 15, 2023 #### Sufficiently appointed and cozy The chalet was as comfortable as it looks, and my eight friends loved the place, and the view of loon Lake. I was concerned that the lower-level bedrooms would be chilly, but there’s radiant heat in the slab so it was as comfortable as the main level. With nine single, mature adults staying together for a long weekend, none of us felt like we were crowding each other. At the time of this review, the description, photos and virtual tour are slightly outdated, so here’s what you’ll find in the way of beds: a pair of twin beds and one king bed on the lower level, two sets of twin beds and one king bed on the main level, and a trundle bed in the loft. The description also indicates a fireplace and a woodstove, but be assured there is only a gas fireplace on the main level, and an electric fireplace on the lower level (where apparently there once was a woodstove). We all found the beds very comfortable. A couple of caveats: The ignition on the grills didn’t work so be sure to bring a lighter with you since there were none on site. The gas fireplace didn’t turn on with the remote so you have to open the vent below the fireplace and move the switch on the small black box to the right.
