We had a good time in Cancun overall The resort was fine. Book there if you like the prices (especially for a suite) compared to bigger resorts. We booked late so we had limited options and the prices were high. This was one of the cheaper options (especially for a suite with kids having their own room/bathroom), so you could say we got what we paid for. It's like a very good hotel, but less like a resort. Much smaller than other resorts (~100 rooms), so I am guessing it's more expensive for them to provide activities/amenities. They do have good entertainment some days. The resort and the suites are maintained well and look up-to-date.
The beachfront is really small, kind of untidy. You can hang out there perfectly fine, but don't expect an expansive/open view of the ocean. Lots of seaweed on the beach. We hardly used it. Ended up taking a bus to other beaches. Very limited activities that we could do in the resort while we waited two days for rain to clear. Staff was friendly overall, helpful and attentive. The front desk could be a little more chatty. They answered specific questions, but otherwise were not volunteering much information about the resort or about Cancun. Food was good overall. The service at the buffet was mostly ok. Didn't try the bar too much. Hard liquor is extra. The Bellman was very, very nice and friendly.
You can have a perfectly good time in Cancun staying at this resort, but if prices are equal, consider a bigger resort with more amenities.
