The Dobson House--famous Taos Earthship

Riverfront vacation home with kitchen and patio
This 6,500-square-foot earthship hovers next to the majestic Rio Grande Gorge and sits on an enchanted 25-acre mesa surrounded by mountains. Two beautiful bedroom suites with private patios are rented separately. The quoted price is for one suite. Honoring current safety protocol, only one guest party is hosted at a time and suites are alternated between guests. For families and guests traveling together, both suites may be rented with a fifteen percent discount applied to the second suite. The suites are located on the lower level and connect to the main house's massive circular windowed living room via a grand underground staircase. Each adobe and Mexican-tiled suite has gorgeous views, a queen bed with pull-out couch, and bathroom. Access to wii-fi is in the living room. Hike or bike the mesa's historic stagecoach trails. Follow the Big Horn Sheep trails along the gorge's rim. Descend the gorge and soak in the mineral-rich Stagecoach/Manby Hot Springs. Breath-taking sunsets and starry skies await.
Guest accommodations at this vacation home offer fireplaces and coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to patios. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and separate dining areas. Bathrooms include showers.
The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or nearby; fees may apply.

5/5 Excellent

Unique, Interesting and Comfortable
The Dobson House was one of the most interesting homes I have visited. Modeled on Earthship Biotecture, this unique home offers a comfortable space to hang out, interesting architectural components and beautiful surroundings. Brenda, our host was friendly and helpful. We had full access to a well equipped kitchen and living space. There were several easy and scenic hikes accessed within a short walking distance.

5/5 Excellent

The Dobson House is delightful.
Beautiful 360 views. Endless trails. Taos and ski area are a within a short drive. Your roomy suite is private with your own entrance connected to the main house by a long adobe staircase. A wonderful host with great recommendations.

Absolute tranquility
Our stay was beyond relaxing. The night sky from not only the patio but inside our room was absolutely stunning, stars for days. The hike to the springs was amazing beautiful surroundings! Brenda was very nice and had awesome recommendations! We definitely plan to visit again.

We were looking for a place to rest and Brenda’s home was perfect. The bedroom was quiet and the view from the living room was magnificent. Ruby was entertaining and always happy to see us. We would love to stay again.
