Everything is in walking distance from the hotel. However be aware you have to pay for parking at the El Dorado at $25 a day plus tax....that's a big bummer because most of the hotels have self FREE parking!

All staff was extremely gracious and friendly. A welcoming environment at all times. I especially enjoyed the crackling fire throughout the day in the main space, as well as the fresh and inviting breakfast buffet served every morning! In addition, morning coffee on every floor was a plus in my book. The only negative I experienced was that the gift/amenities shop was only open one day out of five I was there. (Couldn't get dental floss or mouthwash conveniently in the hotel.

    "Pictures didn't match reality"
The hotel is an older facility and that is actually part of it's charm. However, the pictures that I viewed gave me the impression that the rooms were a little more "newer" than reality. I don't know if there are some rooms that are newer and some that are not, but I have to say I was a little disappointed. I would suggest the hotel spruces up their older rooms a bit. They were really clean, but just dated.

    "Hidden Gem"
We've stayed there four times - each time in a different type of room - each is unique. When we checked in, Zoe was amazing - she walked us to our casita and made sure we knew where everything was and how it all worked. Unfortunately the restaurant, De La Tierra, was not so amazing. I never got a water refill, never asked if we wanted another drink, the food was slow to come, and the bison burger was overcooked and tough. Highly recommend the hotel - stay away from the restaurant. Checking out, the woman was not helpful - didn't ask about our stay - just wanted to know if the bill was satisfactory - the $55 resort fees and taxes are hard to swallow on a $215 room fee. Definitely will go back, just haved learned lessons for next time.
