"Nice hotel in town "
Mysef, my partner and my two children stayed one night in the family room 12. Very clean and spacious, nicely decorated, shower room a little on the small side and outlook from room was over facility area so frosted glass, overall lovely room. There was no hairdryer as stated but we had one so no problem. Breakfast, service and staff lovely. One downside is parking is £10 for 24hrs on super market multi-storey. Nice and close to orangery maidstone where we attended a wedding. We arrived very late so popped down the street for takeaway pizza , room service available but we're not allowed to take our food to the room and ate in dining room at about 22.30 pm. Very reasonable price &195.00 for two nights with continental breakfast, only £5 each extra for full English. Greatly better value than the local larger hotels. Had a lovely stay and would stop again, added touch of bottled water was great

"Basic but adequate"
The hotel is a pretty old building and so it can't compete in freshness and design with the rash of new "inns" which have sprung up. It has narrow corridors, a small lift, steps access to the reception area, and even an old "telephone" room for making private calls in the days before cellphones. My room was basic but adequate. Single bed, old style bedside cabinet, strip light over the bed for reading, a wardrobe with hanging and shelf space, a small shelf with an old portable colour tv, a kettle, mug and box of tea bags, coffee, creamer and sugar packets, refillable at reception. There was a sink with a light and shaver point above it, a small armchair - wooden arms, and an ensuite cut into one wall, which was rather small and cramped, but the hot water was rapid and plentiful. A suitcase stand, spare blanket and pillow were provided. The windows were sash style UPV replacements, so no drafts and reasonably soundproof. The hotel looks just a little shabby in places, with chipped paintwork and scratched woodwork, obviously having seen a good deal of wear. My bedroom door had a one inch gap under it at one end - uneven floors in an old building I'd guess. The hotel is well situated on the Folkestone Lees - no heavy traffic, a green area in front and panoramic views across the English channel. I would happily go there again.

"This was self catering accomodation so we went exp"
The listing on your websitde for this self catering was incorrect as they do not offer breakfast as we expected so was not prepared had no groceries with us. The area and accomodation surpassed this hiccup and they reduced the price to compensate we had a very relaxing stay
