Our room was very clean and nice. The staff was friendly. The main restaurant and bar is beautiful but we were very disappointed that it was closed for a private event one of the nights that we stayed there. They had a small bar open for us but it just was not the same. The person attending the bar was not a bartender and had to seek advice at the main bar for assistance. The prices of drinks should reflect the lower quality of ambiance. We would expect coffee and tea to be available complimentary at the cost we were paying for the rooms but you had to buy it at the bar. All in all, for the most part, we really liked this hotel. We just thought it was overpriced for what you got.

Staff being more then OK.

The place is beautiful, and our room was very good. The biggest issue was that Uber or Bolt does not pick up there. And we had to ask the hotel to call a taxi, which was really expensive (3x Uber). From Edinburgh center, ~£20 Uber and £50 taxi. Or you can go to the nearest train station for ~£15. The other issue was that there is no phone coverage in the hotel and very weak connection outside.

Everything was great!

This hotel is clean and the staff is great. Our suite was nice, but there were stairs between the bedroom and the rest of the suite. Also, there was only 18 inches or so between the foot end of the very comfortable king size bed and the wall. The location on the Royal mile was very convenient for all the tourist attractions in Edinburgh
