The description of the room we booked on their website did not match what we were given. We booked an excutive room but the room we were given only had two skylights and no view. The room was in a small narrow corridoor in the loft.

We booked the Apex Grassmarket Hotel for a stay during The Fringe Festival. We visit every year and have stayed in various central Edinburgh Hotels over the years. The Apex Grassmarket Hotel was very disappointing. One positive to note was the staff who were always very approachable and helpful. Sadly the rest was a let down. Our room wasn’t really serviced, the bed not made, water glasses not replaced, coffee pods not restocked. There is no air con, and the street outside is very noisy if you keep the windows open, and, something I hadn’t thought to check in advance, the hotel bar shuts at 11 o’clock, very disappointing if you are looking forward to a quite drink after the last show that you’ve attended. There are far superior hotels available for a better or equivalent price.

From check-in to departure, the staff went above and beyond—exceptionally warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay

Classic character of the buildings, friendly helpful staff, excellent location. The only drawback was the maze like hallways to get to the room. Overall very satisfied and would stay again.
