We had a wonderful, large room looking over Princes Street. We stayed in February which meant that the rate was very reasonable. We visited the in-house cinema one night - this makes this hotel pretty unique. We would definitely stay here again if coming to Edinburgh.

Superb location, but the hotel seems in need of a refit. Rooms were very hot with no temperature control. One room had no shower gel in the bottle and housekeeping had to be called to make up the rooms.
Poor value for money.

Great breakfast, wonderful staff and really good location. My only negative comment is the pull down blinds were quite tattered and safe wasn’t working on check in but they replaced safe door right away and taped up blinds to provide darkness in room. They were very responsive to my room issues and everyone I met was beyond nice and helpful.
The Scottish breakfast was wonderful!! I 1000% appreciate that they provided my requested room! Thank you!! I will stay there next year because they are such good people!! And good room!

Matthew is, again, a super-helpful member of staff. He's willing to help with luggage, porterage, directions, even sorted out a cafe for us one time. He's just great.
The lighting is low and calm, perhaps a little too low at some points, ie the reading lamps.
The bathrooms are clean and well-appointed. Mind the edge of the bath, though, the shower water runs all round the edges and onto the floor.
We didn't have breakfast, and we didn't use the parking - there doesn't seem to be much parking. We booked with another provider.
