With the continued impacts of COVID-19, traveling now comes with greater challenges. Have a read over these useful tips before hopping on your plane to Wales:
- Know what rules and restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you book.
- You must wear a face mask at the airport, including at security checkpoints. Be ready to lower your mask for ID verification when asked by a TSA employee.
- Avoid handing your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee. Rather, you should place the pass on the reader and then hold it up for inspection.
- TSA now permits passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will need to be removed from your bag for X-ray screening.
- Put any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and coins) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
- Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA officer will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
