We’ve stayed here several times and it’s always a lovely & relaxing experience. The building is wonderful and abounds with Georgian character.
The only minor criticisms are that our bathroom floor has chunks of grout missing and some areas of painted woodwork that could have benefited from a thorough scrub, and the traffic noise from the main road is quite intrusive at night as the original casement windows haven’t been updated with new glazing.
It’s still a wonderful hotel, the staff and menus are excellent, and you might bump into someone famous at breakfast! (Sorry, can’t divulge any names!).
