Relax and restore yourself at this charming mountain cottage home that is on over an acre of Northern California majestic redwoods. Want to go hiking or biking? The property has a trail that starts at the end of the driveway, goes behind the house, and leads into the 6100+ acre La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve. It’s also right by 5 other amazing hiking and mountain biking areas (Thornwood, El Corte De Madre Creek, Wunderlich, Windy Hill, and Purisima). Want the beach? You can be there in 20 minutes. Writer’s retreat or working remote? The property has high-speed wifi and is only 15 minutes from the famous Sand Hill Road and Silicon Valley. Charming restaurants, including Alice’s, are walking distance away.

The cottage house is a very large studio with 20-ft high ceilings, a king bed, kitchen, living space with queen sleeper sofa and Smart TV, dining area, bathroom, and charming gas furnace. There is also both a front and back porch to sit and enjoy the majestic settings. The cottage house provides great privacy and is detached and separate from the other house on the property.

Great location, charming no frills property
We stayed at the home with our two kids for a family wedding at the Mountain Terrace, and it was ideal for our purposes. Walkable to Alice's for an easy breakfast or lunch with the kids, and walkable to the wedding venue for a worry free experience. The location of the property was a great midway point for arrival via San Francisco, easy access to Half Moon Bay, and equally convenient to Palo Alto for wedding events and dining. The roads are an experience, but doable, and we enjoyed our trip.

Wow! Such a pleasant stay!!
We rented both houses for our daughter's wedding at Mountain Terrace and the accommodations exceeded our expectations in every way! Everyone had room to spread out and enjoy the many outdoor patios. The two bathrooms, clean closets and well placed mirrors helped us get ready for two special events and the location could not have been better. I'm already dreaming of another trip to enjoy the gorgeous setting and amenities again. I highly recommend both properties!

A cute place, though a little hard to find
We really enjoyed the place and the area - but finding it in the first place was a bit of a challenge - the signs have a different road name on them. Once we got there, we had a good time. A store and Alice's restaurant were within an easy walking distance.

Nice place!
Great location! Beautiful space! Down sides: The place next to mine, which was much larger had 5 cars come Saturday night which made getting in and out of drive way impossible. The website showed really nice hiking trails but they are no where near the cottage. And lastly cobwebs on the skylights where you need a 20ft pole to knock down. But we really had a nice and relaxing time!

Great stay in the woods
This is a fun little place to stay in the woods. It is a studio and wonderfully naturally lit with sky lights and roof windows. That being said, bring an eye mask if you want darkness to sleep at night. Also, turn the gas fireplace on before you go to sleep so you don't wake up cold. Definitely go to Alice's just around the corner, and get lots of hiking in. The location was perfect for us.
