Our only complaint is that there are no elevators to get to and from the rooms. My wife has great difficulty negotiating stairs.

Check in was wonderful. Dining we were asked to pay our bill because she was concerned of us leaving? Do they treat all guest like this? We ordered appetizers and a Bloody Mary. Waitress Never asked if we’d like to order anything else. I passed the bill back to her and stated we weren’t finished. We had planned on dinner. She took the bill got us a second drink brought the second bill with the drinks. And made the comment that she was concerned we would leave without paying. We’re guest in the hotel!

That is no way a reflection of how we train or expect our servers to treat our customers. Second, I did talk to our Food & Beverage Manager and the server herself about the situation. This was my second stay at this property. Best views of the Mississippi River valley. Especially in the fall. My room was updated and clean. Staff was so friendly and easy to reach. Our breakfast was delicious. Wonder the grounds. It’s a beautiful place. Also, I highly recommend the river boat tour, riding the ski lifts, and the soaring Eagle zip line chair. We WILL be BACK!

Beautiful location on a mountain top with the view of Mississippi River and wooded rocks. Nice walking and biking trails, swimming pool with sauna and spa, restaurant with the bar. We had a room with the view, refrigerator and microwave. Friendly staff. They let us check-in early. Recommend!

Mixed experience. Service was so-so. Why start breakfast later than announced? 8am is already late. Why isn‘t the kitchen ready and are we asked to wait yet another 15 minutes? Cocktail at the bar was mediocre. The scenery outside is great. Dinner was fine. Wine was well priced and value for money.

Had a terrific stay. Breakfast (add cost) was a delicious buffet. Views can’t be beat from the dining room. Property was well-maintained. Clean room. I will be back!

I wish that we didn't have to pay for every single ride rather than it be more like a lift ticket where it was an all day ticket. It got pretty pricy. The activities themselves were fun and entertaining. The boat tour was informative and relaxing.

Met our needs but needs updated!
This is a very dated resort. There were a lot of little things that could be improved to make it a much better experience. The front desk staff need to be more attentive when it's a busy time for check in or outs. I called the resort the day before our arrival to tell them we would be late, they asked if it was going to be after midnight and i explained it could be. That was going to be an issue! If we weren't going to be there before midnight we would lose our room! I had to wait till the manager got in and speak to her about it. This shouldn't have even been an issue because they weren't sold out and it was paid for. For the price, they could easily provide pastries or bagels for breakfast and still have a sit-down breakfast menu in the restaurant. The towel bar in the bathroom was loose and falling out. Hallways smelled. The room was clean, but it would have been nice to have a regular small table and chairs instead of a plastic chair. The sink faucet turned the wrong way The pool was nice, but the sauna didn't work. Also, they may want to periodically check on guests. There were people vaping , with glass beer bottles and one guy didn't want to swim but opened the outside door and then everyone was cold. The cleaning staff was awesome as was the waitress in the restaurant. All in all it was good but needs improvement.

Been to galena in the past, First time staying here, would definitely go back. Staff was nice and helpful, room was clean,quiet and very comfortable. We took the Alpine slide down to take the boat ride on the Mississippi. Highly recommend both ! It's about a 20 minute drive to downtown galena, but the veiw from the hotel is beautiful, and watching the bald eagles and turkey vultchures flying around is amazing. P.S. you see the eagles better from the boat ride.

The best thing about this property is the view!! This hotel is very outdated for $200.00 a night and I can’t figure out how they stay open with no elevators or handicapped doors at entrance.
